Yesterday, was hacking up the woods on my friends pony, Jasper. He's had a bad history and can be jumpy. Was with two of my friends on Maddie and Blacky.
There's a steep downhill, with a stream at the bottom and then a steep uphill.
Sometimes the horses trot up the hill as it's steep and one of my friends can be nervous and was her first time doing this track so i told her they might trot.
Get to the stream and Maddie decides she'd like a nice canter up the hill and flies off with no warning!
This startles Jasper and, mixed with his "follow the girlfriend" instinct, he launched himself over the stream!
I so nearly went right off the side but i managed to stay on. Following Jasper, Blacky decides she'll canter too.
Must have looked very funny with Maddie having the canter of her life at the front, me leaning dangerously to the left with one stirrup galloping along to catch up, and Blacky following
