well, been to see two horses today...good and bad...

I decided i'd spend today looking at horses, unfortunately OH turned up home as work was flooded and he wanted to come with me

i made him promise to, well, shut up basically, and if he was good he could come but i didnt want him making any horse-related decisions, lol

well, one was a mare ive been trying to get around to trying for ages and not...turns out shes lovely and im picking her up at weekend hopefully

second was one i waas looing at for him, a 17.2 grey HW hunter mare.
feck!ng mental!!
first sign was when the bloke hadnt brought any tack with him. i asked him to get some so i could see it ridden/ride it.
went away and got some.
no rider.
nobody has been on it since xmas.
tacking it up took 2 strong men, plus it reared up when i took it to the mounting block (im only little).
still, on i get. mental. the horse and me for getting on it!
after one too many bucks and rears i just jumped off and handed it back.
owner seems to think itll be ok with a week or so of work but i just cant be bothered having another rearer.

got back in the car and OH says hes not picking up good vibes

however long its not been ridden for I'd be seriously concerned about a horse that had to be tacked up by two strong men. Sounds pretty disturbed to me.
 
Oh, you are brave for getting on. The same thing happened to me once, the woman who owned it turned up in a skirt. Lunged it to death then I said could I see it ridden, she said she couldn't so me being a complete idiot got on and within two steps it bronc'd. Next thing I know, am sitting on the floor. First lesson learnt, don't get on anything the owner wouldn't.

It's mad some horses people are trying to sell isn't it. Christ, even my crackers pony wouldn't do anything like that even if he wasn't ridden for a year!! I've tried some nutters in the past, it's quite unbelievable what's out there!

when we get in the car OH says hed made up his mind he didnt want it at that point, lol wish hed have said because it never occured to me not to get on the bugger

and i thought our hunter was a little bit ahem mad! because he hauled you around the hunting field like a train.. but jesus! 2 strong men to tack up a horse! something aint right in that horses head!!

one bloke was trying to get its head down the other dragging down the other side and he had the bit off one cheekpiece to get it in

if i wanted it i think i could get it for next to nowt as before i left he asked me how much id give him for it...haha
