After reading the last thread on the zips going on boots - someone posted the link to mountain horse - saying that they send out replacement zips. I thought i'd give it a go as i love my boots but have had a series of zip disasters with them. But didnt hold out an awful lot of hope. So 10 minutes ago I sent an email outlining what had happened.
i have just received a reply saying zips will be posted to me no ifs or buts!! what a refreshing change!! WELL DONE MOUNTAIN HORSE!!!

THEY ARE SERIOUSLY LOVELY BOOTS AND NOW WITH BRILLIANT CUSTOMER SERVICE WORTH EVERY PENNY!

Are they going to cover the cost of replacing them?? MH replaced the boots for new pairs for me rather than replacing the Zips... you should of pushed for a new pair of boots as they have replaced all 3 pairs of mine and I still have one pair brand new and boxed, im saving those for best :)

Well they've changed then. I rang to ask about a replacement zip for by Bodyguard jacket and got no sense whatsoever, a couple of years ago.

I had all of mine changed about 2 years ago but I took them back to the shop where I bought them from and they sorted it with Mountain Horse, as they wern't of 'Merchantable Quality' was what D.H told them... so I was happy with that!! :)

I can see what some of you are saying - new boots - costs of zips...
but the boots are not nearly new - i have had them a few years! i am just saying that i am impressed with the service - there was no quibling - ie: when did you buy them? have you got the reciept? ect ect. Just a reply saying zips being posted. If they had been newish then i would have asked for more BUT they arent so i am more than happy with the repacement zips. I was just impressed with the lack of questions ect ect.....

I had had one of my pairs for about 8 months when the zip went bust... but they still exchanged them for a new pair for me as you should get more than 8 months out of a pair of boots around £150... I think they just need to put heavier duty zips in them as although the zips seem fine from a 1/4 of the way UP the boot its the part right near the heel that seems to be the issue with them... At least you have some new zips on the way :)

Well I followed the instructions in the Care Manual that MH give out with all their boots and I have never had a problem. That bit about keeping the zips clean with a toothbrush is a really clever tip
