I know I've posted this twice but wanted people to see it.......

After spending yesterday at Silver Florins show I thought I should let everyone know how well she did.
I also got to meet Vanessa (Silver Florin) and Keriili for the first time so "morning!!".
I can only marvel at the amount of effort that goes into organising these things and the undoubted stress everyone went through. BUT it seemed to go really well and I hope that when the totals are added up that it was a good day for the charity.

Kerilli did an amazing job running around judging and even dealing with a 30 year old spoilt brat throwing a tantrum over a jumping round so she dersrves a big well done too. Sorry if I didn't see any of the other HHO crowd but I was "groom" and baby sitter yesterday.

I would however also like to add that some people do need to remember when its a show for chartiy that thats what they're there for and subjecting judges (like Kerilli) who are there on their own time to abuse is uncalled for. As is demanding refunds for classes (all £4 of it) and behaving like an utter t***er when you don't get placed. [climbs down off soap box].

So well done Vanessa, hope you're having a well earned break and hope that the charity bank balance reflects the hard work you put into an enjoyable day.

PS - can you thank whoever it was that judged the showing "championship" in the morning. One of my yard won and she's not stopped smiling since! Monty (her horse) is 19 and we only persuaded her to come the day before!

hiya, was very nice to meet you too!
ooh, which ring was your friend in? was it ring 1? (i hope it was my ring!)
agreed about the tantrums, absolutely ridiculous. trying to shut those two up... jeez. and as for an adult woman getting stroppy about a class which involved her racing her 15.2 showjumper over fences approximately 8" high (she'd asked my friend, who was running that ring, to put them DOWN from a foot high!!!)
must admit, i really enjoyed judging, even if i was mortified about not being in the right kit (turned up in jeans ready to help, not smart kit ready to judge, oops!). the rosettes and trophies were all absolutely beautiful. really hope she made a good profit and will do it again next year.

It was ring 1!!
Monty was the bay who came second in the veterans showing (a lovely grey came first) then won the little championship thing.
Another girl from my yard got second in the sports horse showing despite Josh bucking in protest (he's show jumps and hates showing - we only entered him to give the charity more money!!)

Oh yes, he was lovely, really liked him. a chestnut came first in the veteran's, both in hand and ridden, it was a lovely little horse which looked about 15 and was actually 30! didn't have a dipped back, had super condition (just right), amazing. another real credit to the rider, just like Monty.
so pleased that they had a good time and were happy with my decisions. Josh's owner would have won if Josh hadn't bucked, btw... his flying change nearly swung it, but i thought i'd better not forgive the buck!!
brilliant that you drummed up more support for the charity, btw!

Ah yes - I'm wrong, for some reason I thought the grey was the veterans but it was the sports horse class that the grey won.
You're right the chesnut that won the veterans was lovely - I couldn't believe he was 30!!
Joshs flying changes are so magnficant we are thinking of sending him to the red arrows as a mascot! He was much happier jumping later although does have to buck all the way to the first fence!
We also coaxed Monty into doing some jumping and he was a little star!

Hello, just crawled out of bed.
It was lovely to meet you Hovis-and-sidsMum.
I was so stressed i very nearly put cancelled on the gates that morning - realy honestly. It was only the thought of the bill for the rosettes and trophies that made me open.
How great your friend won the championship. Well done her.
I cannot thank the HHO peeps enough.
I would like everyone to know this show would not have happened without them. Full heartfelt thanks to you all and your friends family. 'Friends dropped me in it which left me to do everything. Total strangers stepped in and made the show the success it was. You caught me at my worst in a real state. You all pulled the show together. I realy cannot thank you all enough.
Most people were understanding of my dilemma but after you all pulled it together they want to come back again.
Kerelli was an amazeing judge, thankyou so much.
I have to go do the horses now, they will be wondering where i am. I will do a full post later but wanted to thank everyone.
P.S. We have not got a full total as yet. The owner of the local tack shop did money for me but we got a part total and i am so happy to say the show costs were covered, we have enough rosettes for two or three small shows left and we raised enough to pay some vets bills and get us through the next month.

excellent, i think you need to do a few a year... if your nerves will stand it! will drum up more help next time, don't worry!
btw, you really really really really need either a tannoy system or a good old-fashioned megaphone next time, we had to go and yell in the lorry park for missing competitors!
glad to hear you have rosettes left, they were lovely as were the trophies, a very memorable show for everyone, i'm sure.
btw, will bring a course of showjumps with me next time, wish i'd realised you were still a bit short of them! never mind, everyone coped amazingly well, you should be over the moon with how the day went.

Was going to add hubby and I would be happy to help you organise another one when you've calmed down from this one!
By then I might even have the destroyer controllable on grass such that I can bring him for a day out!

I am glad it went well.

If it's on again next year I shall book the grandparents in plenty of time and I shall come down and help.

I'm pleased it went well for you and that we could support you in a small way

Shows are such hard work to run but worth it on the day and I'm sure the majority of your competitors appreciated their day out.
