Yep - fantastic - trying to get my golf-mad partner to take an interest - he was just peeved that it clashed with the Ryder Cup...

I know the feeling, I had to get the remote off my mum who wanted to watch x factor!! Although she did admit she's glad she watched the WEG! :)
 
Fantastic! They all thoroughly deserved that gold. Couldn't be more proud of Team GB at this moment :D Would like to add Pippa and Piggy both did brilliant jobs too, you can't ask for much more than double clears :D Well done team!!!
 
Congratulations to Team GB - didn't they do well! Their show jumping was wonderful, they looked really confident, with good reason.

Well done to Michael Jung too, for his Individual Gold because he led from the start.
Great to see New Zealand get bronze, what a comeback for Mark Todd and Andrew Nicholson was individual bronze too, he deserves it.

Canada looked really pleased to be Silver, they just got on with it.
 
My mum was cheering at WFP too. I am so so pleased for them - such a fab selection for the GB team - well done all of them. couldnt have asked for better really.

WFP - my highschool crush still remains on him and i will keep dreaming.........

I wonder how William felt standing there with Andrew N - yes I know it happened years ago & it's all water under the bridge but I love WFP. What a gentleman he was though to shake his hand :D

I thought they did so well and made our country proud!

But on a sadder note, how many non equines are going to know about this achievement? I bet it won't be a feature in papers!
 
we need to raise our show jumping profile back to how it was in the 80's - with the whole country behind them not just horsey peeps
 
What a shame that I can't seem to find that any of our GB newspapers have even acknowledged this, it's all football. I think it is disgusting actually, here is something good about GB, and nobody apart from people that know about the WEG know that GB has won something big. What about all these kids that might look at this achievement and say, ooh I'd like to do that one day. It's bad, it really is. :mad:
 
Brilliant result, I could hardly breath watching our sj rounds!!! Think it's so sad that there hasn't been the barest mention of it on tv news or papers - absolutly nothing. Nothing locally too which is a shame as Laura B is just a couple of miles down the road. Plenty of cr*p local football but not a mention of the four (I think?) individual silvers and one team gold - so far! That is bloody fantastic! Not to mention our other peeps like the 6th in endurance - and their sport wasn't even funded to get there!
(CalllyH - am with you on the crush! WFP is a fittie!)
 
Fantastic result for GB & WFP! Delighted WFP has an individual medal - would have loved for it be gold but take nothing away from MJ who absolutely deserved it. I'm also thrilled to see Toddy back up there winning a team medal.

Just a reminder the highlights are on BBC2 at 1pm today. Only 1hr15mins but it's something at least...
