Oooooh dont tempt me! I did have a lovely Barnsby set while we were jumping, but they were always a bit big for her so I sold them when we gave up SJing.....dont go putting ideas in my head again, you cant wear sheepskin boots in dressage!!!!

Aww bless her lol. I really must get one of those seat savers, they look so comfortable!

They are lovely! I was dubious at first - didnt think I would like not being able to really 'get my bum in the saddle', but if anything, them make it even more snug! I find I can sit more still in the saddle with it on!

OMG>..................... Where did you get that pink pad thing? I WANT 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[/ QUOTE ]
It's a Stephens one....I was at Badminton on the Sunday, right at the end of the day, and they were trying desperately to sell it. Full price was £65, but apparently everyone had been laughing at it because it was pink! So when I walked in and said ah, such a shame you dont have a cream one, they offered me the pink one for £40! I said no, £40 was too high a price to pay for my horse having to wear pink, so they dropped it to £30. I couldnt refuse that; it's such lovely quality!
I also have a Musto jacket in exactly the same shade of pink to match......
Why do you use the sheepskin saddle pad AND a saddle cloth? I though one of the points of the sheepskin is that it is absorbant for sweat and breathable?

Can you tell me someone who doesnt!?!? I only ever see them used with a saddlecloth! Most people seem to use them as glorified riser pads!
But I will be honest and say that for us, it serves an aesthetical as opposed to a functional purpose!
That's it you are definitly loopy . . . . . . Far too much pink and dead sheep . . . .
TBH I've only ever put mine on under the saddlecloth, although yes you are right many people do seem to use them as glorified riser pads. Oh and glad MizElz is back to behaving properly again

does it realy matter??
[/ QUOTE ]
Of course it doesn't, do most if the posts on here really matter ?
I am just wondering why you would use something like sheepskin in a way that you do not get the full benefit and also surely with a saddle cloth as well you are making the saddle not fit?

Saddle fits fine! In fact last year the saddler said to me, 'dont ever use a polypad or a foam riser, but sheepskin pads are fine.' Which i thought kind of strange at the time! but all my saddle cloths are very thin, and breathable too. Dont worry, I'm not silly enough to compromise Ellie's comfort and well being for the sake of a few bits of fluff!!!
we all use a sheepskin pad and dressage saddle pad for comfort for horse and rider use the combination in eventing (dressage) and in BD, sits nicely undersaddle and still have a fantasic purpose works beautifully!!!

I use both together - Henry is fully clipped and I don't want the saddle to rub him - plus my sheepskin pad only stops the saddle rubbing under the seat, not the flaps so I add a numnah too!
MizElz: I LOVE the pink fleece! Am rather taken with it, wonder if Henry would mind wearing one...
