As some of you know i have been having loads of problems down my yard, the yard seems to have split in half lately with me and my friend on one side and 3 of the other owners on the other side. I dont know why this happened they just seemed to get really funny towards us. We ended up having rugs thrown on the floor, our stuff (inc tack & hats) being used and not put back, jumps benig taken out of the sand school so we couldn't use them, the list goes on!!

I have said little sarcastic comments but it goes straight over their heads (either that or they just choose to ignore them and carry on regardless).

Well we came down on Friday and we found that they had moved the tack room all around, they had taken up 3/4 of the tack room and shoved me and my friend in one corner. We couldn't even open our boxes to get into them and one box was in front of the other one so we couldn't even reach the one behind!! My friend got all moody but never said anything as she doesn't really like confrontation and instead just slammed a few boxes to make them aware she wasn't happy. I on the other hand had finally had enough!!!

I went into the tack room and i said 'i see we have had a move around'. Their response was 'yeah we made it more convinient' and i said 'convinient for who?' and it basically all kicked off from there. There were a lot of raised voices but we all managed to stay fairly calm over all apart from one livery who kept piping up with a few sarcastic comments so i got a bit narky back with her but she backed down in the end (i think she thought she could intimidate me as she is older but she was wrong).

I didn't hold nothing back and said exactly what i had been feeling over the last few months and they did they same. I held my hands up to some things, like i dont clean the rest of the yard as much as i could (only keep my bit clean) and they did the same. We also set a few things straight on things they accused us of etc which they admitted they was wrong about.

So by the end we had come to a few agreements and agreed to talk to each other more when we're not happy etc and i am hoping that the yard will be a lot happier in future. It was certainly a lot better over the weekend.

We also managed to sort the tack room out so that everyone is happy and i invested in some more storage so i can now lock things away.

Just thought i kept the few of you that have been following my story up to date

well done you, I think regular meetings involving all the liveries at bigger yards are a good thing for clearing the air are a good idea, even if there aren't major problems to discuss.

well im glad youve managed to sort things out hun, and i hope things get better from now on. It sounds like now things are all out in the open and everyone knows how everyone else feels it will get better.

well done for getting things sorted, I agree with the watcher I was on a yard and it was the nicest yard but the owners of the yard made us have monthly meetings about general things and any problems we had with each other, it worked really well.

Good for you, it's usually whats not said on a livery yard that causes the most problems, or whats taken the wrong way, its a livery hazard.

Hope it all settles down, sounds like it has

Well done sounds really brave, I'm more like your friend, slam things around and sulk. Hopefully they will talk to you when they have issues now then!

This sounds promising!
Ahh i hate confrontation, and its aways much better to have it all otu in the open.
When I used to be at a bigger livery yard we used to have a monthly meeting on a sunday.

This is what I need to happen at my yard, so sick of the atmosphere up there! Think I should speak to YO about a meeting, and get everything out in the open and cleared up. What is it about livery yards that makes them such a nightmare?! I always thought it was the high percentage of females, but recent problems have been caused by an adult male

That actually sounds pretty positive. Sometimes it takes simmering tensions a while to come to a head, but when it does it can be good to clear the air. There were obviously problems on both sides that needed to be sorted, so I hope from now on your yard is a happier and more harmonious place.

Glad u got it sorted!! It can be horrible when its like that. I juts moved my boyo back on Saturday and so far 1 nose is MAJORY out of joint as my horse is supposedly disturbing the 'close nit group' that has developed in the field (there is only 1 field for stabled geldings so not like he can go anywhere else). I think its cos he is not an expensive posh bred showjumping pony/horse as they were fine with my mates new horse back in November! lol.
Either that or they dont like that I like to keep the barn clean!

I cant be bothered with it really................I mean its not something they or I have any say in where he goes so they have to like it or lump it.
