...Cara had her first raw dinner. well not all of it. I picked up a kilo of chicken drummies in Lidl for £1.75. I made her dinner up as usual but just a bit less and put in one of the drummies. She ate all round it and then had a wee sniff and a lick, then pulled the skin a wee bit. I thought, oh no she doesn't like it. Then she picked it up really furtively and went into the utility room then headed through to the back door so I let her out. She put it down and looked at it like she wasn't quite sure what to do. Kept looking at me as if to say ermm excuse me but are you having a laugh, you forgot to cook my chook!
It took her a few minutes to eat it and I must admit there was something quite satisfying about watching her crunch the bones. She seemed to enjoy it anyway so will give her another one tomorrow, or is that too soon, should I wait a day or two?

I feed it every day right from the day my dogs come home so she will be fine with it tomorrow.

Make sure you are not feeding with kibble. They need to be fed 12 hours apart.

i am worried about the kibble thing. do you mean her dr john dried food? I did but it was mixed with a bit of tinned meat. It was jsut 1 chicken drummie. Nobody has mentioned this. When would I know there was a problem? I am really worried now!!
so how did you introduce it gradually, what did you feed with it?

Yes don't feed it with her Dr johns. She will be fine this time but just try not to do it again.

Dogs digestive systems are built to digest meat very quickly and get it out of the body, The dry food is digested much slower and the worry is that will cause a blockage amongst a few other things.

I don't introduce it slowly i just go all out stop the dry and feed the raw.

If you want to do it slowly you would have to feed a breakfast of raw and then a dinner of dry food at least 12 hours later or even better wait for the dry food until the next day.

Thanks for that, you are a star. I was getting a bit panicked over it. She seems totally though so no doubt i would have seen something by now if there was a problem.
Right, think i know what I am doing now lol xx
