An excellent question HH! (but a bit scary when you start adding it all up!)

I haven't worked out the cost of keeping my mares, but to give people an example... last year it cost me £1500 to get one mare in foal. That price included the stud fee, vets fees and keep fees at the stud.

Breeding isn't cheap!

He is absolutely lovely - what a lovely big colt. I would be so chuffed with him, he is truly fantastic. What a good mum Hannah is! Well done, so glad it all went well for you. You'll have to post pics of his first turn out!
