My daughter and I jumped the low clear round and then she entered the novice jumping and I did the 2ft3 class, knocked the 1st part of the double down as wasn't cantering properly (very small ring) but then did the same course for 2ft3 clear round and went clear. Was VERY happy as it is the 1st show we have gone to (except at our yard) in 20 years and horsie did very well. Then I hacked home to Virginia water.

Yes I know I look terrified. I was so nervous but actually started to enjoy myself the 2nd time round!

Also to the people/person who said Shield show is just full of pikeys, it is not. It was a lovely small friendly show where I didn't feel anyone was sneering at us for jumping tiny jumps on a big horse against kids on leadreins!

Make sure you go to the September show as its the 25th anniversary show and Diane who runs it has bought some stunning rosettes and also great prizes.

Well done!

Well done you! & I wouldnt say those jumps were tiny! I was actually contemplating taking my 17 + hh horse over the 18 inches class yesterday! I didnt because we would have looked rediculous, But hey ho.
Congrats

I Agree,
The shield show is a great little show where you can go and just enjoy being able to take your horse out.
No one looking down their nose at you because your horse doesn't strike off on the correct lead every time, and no one smirking if it takes you half an hour to get round a course of fences.
Definitely a great starting point for bigger and better things.
