Gald its Friday - but I have managed another week of riding one horse at 6am and another at 5.30pm or at 6 - even managed to get 2 lessons in and rode for a whole hour on Monday Night.

Absolutley exhausted now though as still have the old girl to look after as well, and i still catch in one of my friends and chuck hay in and finish off another friends horse when i feed and hay mine.

Getting home about 7.30 ish at night (waiting for tea to arrive via the chippy from the uncomplaing oh !)

Is it worth it ? I wonder but i am not looking for an excuse to cancel the school and I could easily have fell to sleep this afternoon at work - its the 5.05 alarm thats the killer !) and tbh I could have done with having a short hack tonight as I am a little fed up of being in the school - but at least I am lucky enough to be able to ride.

Feel much much fitter ! wonder if i can make it 3 weeks on the trot (lol) !

Go for it!!!! And while you're at it, keep making me feel TOTALLY inadequate lol!!!!!!

Blimey woman!

We have managed a week of getting up at 6

Leaving for work at 7

Starting work at 7.30

Leaving at 5

Then I get to the stable about 5.30 and muck out, groom, lunge, free school for 20 mins or ride for 45 mins, Hay up re-rug and leave stables at 7.30 home by 8 feed the dogs, eat and bed by 9 sleep by 10 and off again.

Like you I feel knackered, my back is killing me but I feel disgustingly virtuous

Also I find that spending the time with the ned I get home feeling very chilled rather than my normal stressed out knackered horrible self.....Not watched any Telly this week at all and not missed it

Perhaps we should have a HHO "pat on the back Friday!". My usual morning helper isn't around this winter, so I've been getting up at 5 and at the yard by 6 most mornings for the last 7 weeks (yard is 10 miles from home), mucked out, fed, rugged, turned out & hay and feeds ready for evening, changed in freezing cold tack room and left for work by 6.45. Full day at work (knackered by about 1pm!) then back to the yard late afternoon, sometimes time for short schooling session now it's light a bit later. Collapse in a heap when I get home, meaning that absolutely no housework has been done and the fridge is empty! Only another 7 weeks till help returns! So I think we should all reward ourselves with a treat - glass of wine anyone?

Well I already have my glass of wine here!!!

I get up at 5am all year round...not riding at the moment but hopefully will be for 10 mns on Sunday when I bring my lad back into very gentle work.
I used to be self employed working from home which was great as I started early, got loads of work done and then went out to exercise my horse for an hour before coming back home to do more work. But for the last 18mths I have been an employee again working an hours commute away and paying the price of not being able to ride during the week from Sept through to March due to just having all roads to hack on and no school.
I find it totally knackering in the summer getting up at 5am going straight out to ride and rushing back to be ready, clean and smell free to leave for work by 7.30am...but that is the price you pay and I am always happy when sat at work knowing I have been out on my horse and enjoyed a ride before most people are not even awake!

Can I join in crazy week??
Ive just completed week 3 of 4 horse hell!! My friend has broken her leg and ive taken her 2 on aswell as my 2! The monsters are all playing up! one has an eye infection, one has decided that she does not want to come in at night, the last thing i need when i finish at 6 is go searching round field for missing mare in the dark! lol One stands looking forlorn at the gate, one stands screaming and the other runs that fast at me i think she is trying to run me over!
Oh well im sure its only for another month or 2!!

Well done to everyone who is in the 5am gang ! - would love to join you in a glass of wine BUT i have given it up this year ! whoo hoooo - why you may ask - but i am teriffied of loosing my licence when i am but a few weeks away from my horsebox... i have waited for over 30 years for this! and boy I am going to be like a rash driving my horses all over the country !

Strange thing is OH who drops me at the car pool place on the way home so I can go on to the yard, and spends the evening monging out is now fast asleep next to me on the sofa snoring like a Vark.

Something wrong somewhere

Buy Sat Nav my OH had to stop taking the mick once I did that! No more driving round in ever decreasing circles seeing where I wanted to be but not being able to get there because of the ruddy canals!

Oh i always get everywhere using the Indian technique - you know you keep circling smaller and smaller till you find it - bit like they used to do with the pioneers in the wagon trains !
