on Thursday evening...i have rehomed a gorgeous bernese mountain X king charles called Boots(due to his 4 white paws). he is 3yr old fully house trained and an absolute darling. his only issue is he is convinced that cats = dinner and his previous owners had 4 cats. his chasing of them got progressively worse until a few weeks ago he successfully caught one so they decided enough was enough...it wasn't fair on him or the cats. i know his previous owner...she is a feed customer and she also breeds dogs. Boots was the result of a very persistant king charles getting loose one day. his father is pure bred king charles and his mother pure bred Bernese...both from award winning lines. so he is a very well bred mongrel. moved in thursday eve and settled like a duck to water.you'd think he had lived with me all his life. only small issue i'm having is he jumps up lot...but i do think this i more him testing the boundaries than anything. anywho here is the man himself...better pics to come soon!

My boy caught both our cats last week and both managed to escape with not so much as a puncture wound.

He looks lovely, butter wouldn't melt!

But are you sure he is a Charlie x Bernese, not a Cavalier x Bernese? His head looks Cavalier like to me, although I suppose that could just be the Bernese influence

And Charlies are tiny... I know dogs are determined, but I would have been

to see that one

Yes Acolyte you are right sorry...Cavalier King Charles X Bernese!!! I met his Daddy's full sister and she is a little doll...really small and delicate! i'd say Boots conception was a "You've been framed moment" hee hee

More pics to come soon...he has settled in unbelievably well and had his first trip to the yard. he grew up with horses which is a great help as he's sensible around them. currently snoring his brains out having done a few trips up the gallop today bless him...and assuming the mare runs tomorrow he will be attending his first pt2pt!!

OMG I do wonder how dogs manage it sometimes

Particularly having seen a few supposed stud dogs who didnt seem to know what was expected of them

Boots is rather gorgeous though, I would ALMOST have him instead of a greyhound

I had been considering rehoming a greyhound before i met boots but realistically a gh would have been too big for me at the moment. some day i will for certain rehome one...i can't get over how quickly he has settled in. i spent the last couple of weeks since i agreed to take him visiting and walking him till i was set up for him to move in
