Wasn't going to start horse shopping till October, but I found one and want to do vetting. Is 5 star really worth doing as only done 2 star before.

You often need a 5 stage to insure over £5k

Id say do it, it's worth it to see how horse behaves too.

I'd go for the 5-stage personally, even if there are minor issues you're willing to work with - at least you'll know what you're dealing with.

Go in the car with your vet? Is the horse with a dealer and have you made any checks as there is one in Essex who has had very bad reports. Just be careful

It is ok, she is not a dealer, private sale as she has too many. Not easy to go with vet as I have yard to do and no cover, my vet is an hour away and that would extend vets time to 2 1/2 hrs to get to horse and vetting and back.

Not too worried about not being there as had 3 vetted before and not there due to them being in Wales

Be careful there is a really few dodgy sellers in that area in Essex they look like private sellers but are actually not.

I was going to say this. I think this was the area our RDA group lost their deposit on a horse as the owner wouldn’t let them use a vet of their choice.
