How did Saturday's Area Festival go?

I saw in the photos that you were in the prizegiving but can't tell which place!
So, how was it for you?

Sunday went better than expected with my stressed preparation. I was still stressed just before leaving. We had to leave at 2pm and the vet couldn't get to me until 1.45 at the earliest to see to Bunty who is 10mins down the road!!!!!! Breathe.........!

Henry seemed to be back on form again as he was kicking the door down for his breakfast, which he hadn't been doing in the week.
It was me that let him down..........in the heat, I was dreading riding without my whip to tap him up with. Last time in the winter semis he went down the CL, noticed no whip and gradually got stuffier and stuffier! So before the bell rang, I wizzed him down both long sides in medium canter, threw the whip away, entered in collected canter, halt, salute and went straight off in collected canter instead of coll trot!

My fault entirely and got a 4!

He also started to cough violently in the dust just before one of the canter pirouettes which meant I couldn't collect him properly, so that was pants!
We still managed 65.5% and 2nd so have qualified for the finals so phew!
I have to admit we were on our own in the music PSG which was lucky as I c**ked up the tempis which are usually our strong point! I lost focus and couldn't seem to count to 4!

Never mind eh? An easier qualification was never had but 'must try harder' in the next round!

So spill all..........did you have a good day in all the dust?

Sorry to hijack - I went to watch yesterday but had to leave before you got there Bananaman - saw you were entered though.

It was sooo hot, we were sat behind the indoor at 1pm and it was baking. Was still boiling at 6 last night when I rode at home so I bet you were hot in your show gear.

Well done for your scores

Lol - it was dusty wasn't it!

Was a little disappointed with my score - we only managed to scrape 62% - had a wrong strike off in the first canter - something she does about once a year and when she does it is ALWAYS in competition

Still - we did get into the prize giving but only just - we managed an eighth! That was my last Novice and was hoping for a higher score but I think the heat and dust got to her, like your boy, she knew that I did not have my whip and was only giving me 80%, she performed the movements obediently but we had no pizazz

BUT we did have a nice day and I enjoyed it, sad that this is the last competition at KEF - their are moving to Gloucestershire

Gosh here's me rattling on - WELL DONE YOU!!
