We managed to get round all the fences (eventually) that were in the novice section of the showcross event that was run last weekend....although it looked far from pretty.

As predicted OH had already parted company (in his usual stylish way) long before the show jumping commenced but he carried on for the showjumping and then called it a day as she is still very green and even being in a field with others was very exciting. I think we might take her to some more of these though as she was so much calmer at the end.
I didn't get many pictures as although my photographer tried her best (my instructions on use of camera were pretty crap!) we unfortunately got mostly bums and blurred grass

Here are a couple showing that I still need loads of work on position

I know - instructor said the same thing.....in fact she patted her belly and I thought she was saying I needed to lose weight at first.

Worst thing is that I got given birthday money especially for this purpose 2 years ago for a racesafe (think I posted for advice on here) but have never jumped much since. Will definitely get one now though. Will have to do another post for more advice as probably new ones now

Thanks...I think they're lovely too although only had the cob a few weeks and he really needs to fitten up. We don't have loads of grass in the field and I'm hacking him out most days for a few hours of walk and trot (with a small amount of canter) but he is still overweight and not very fit.

I wear a rodney powell body protector with shoulder pads too. It is very comfortable and having had a few nasty falls with it on, I can say it does a very good job!

Your boy looks very sweet though and best of luck with him! I'm a sucker for coloureds!!! Have 2 myself and hoping to breed more!!!
