Ever had one of those weekends when you're glad to be back at work?!!
Thursday night hubby had a jumping lesson and fell off. Assumed he'd just banged his arm, got back on and rode for another 10 minutes. Drove home, had tea etc and about 9pm realised his elbow was twice the size of the other one and turning a lovely colour. Cue trip to A&E to discover he's broken his arm right near the elbow joint. Due to it being a clean break they've not cast it (?) but he's in a sling etc and can't use his right arm. He's right handed. Thus i am now an unpaid slave in my own house!
Saturday I spent concreting with YMs other half as hubby was supposed to help him and now couldn't. I barrowed over 25 loads of concrete and couldn't move by the end of the day!
Sunday morning the foal at the yard escaped into an ajoining field and we all spent ages trying to catch the little darling and sort a new battery for the electric fence.
Yesterday after everyone had been joking that I'd better not fall off with hubby out of action, Hovis tripped coming across some rough ground and I nearly sailed over his head. Luckily although he went down on one knee and I slithered over his ears he pushed his neck up and I scrambled back into the saddle.
I've had to get up at 5am to go and sort the horses + walk the dog + make pack ups and get hubby to work on time
I've come to work this morning for a rest!
How was everyone elses weekend?!!

Blimey you have had an eventful weekend haven't you?!

Hope hubby arm heals quickly (((healing vibes))) for him and ((((calming)))) vibes for you to unwind a bit ready for a repeat performance in reverse after work

It would seem Sunday was a day for escapees. One of the geldings at our yard made a break for it, after being in for 2 days, and it took 10 minutes of him hooning around to get him in the field and another 15 before he was calm enough to get his head collar off

Your weekend sounds a bit like mine...

Sat morning at 6.30 a.m horse suddenly decides he doesn't want to load to go on hound exercise cue OH coming out and getting him in (but also letting my dog out). Got home after a great morning to be greeted by silence. My dog has gone missing. Ring the police. She's at Dorchester police station. Apparently she ran after the trailer when I left and was found 2 miles away running down the road after me.

Sun - go to load horse for show. Refuses to load straight away, jumps up a bank, falls over, lands in a patch of stinging nettles, goes mad, gallops off bucking fully tacked up. Thankfully we caught him before he got on the road (still bucking - big nettle stings on his off hind). Take him for a gentle walk. Try and load him again. Def. won't go in, pulls off front shoe (same foot as 3 weeks ago so not much hoof left).

Yesterday - realised that the bites he had were not bites but ringworm. Crap Bank holiday weekend for me!!!!!
