Well that's one way to test just how quiet a horse is....

New horse arrived y/d....test rode it today, well obviously the weather today was abysmal to start it off anyway....None of our saddles fit the horse either to add insult to injury......Oh and we have no school! [well, we hire one when we need to use on a 30minute hack away, so not one for everyday riding I mean]

So, surely, anyone with a sensible head, would think 'Ok, maybe I'll just walk her out and let her see the place'.....or 'I'll wait till I can get her some tack'.....or even 'I'll just lunge her'.


NB - note the word sensible.

Grab her out and vault up on her bareback and take her out hacking on my own obviously! The rain had stopped virtually, though the wind was still full pelt.

Turns out she is as quiet as she's meant to be! She's extremely fun....I love pony squishing again :D :P

My new lad arrived Saturday. I have no saddle and no bridle. When the bridle arrives I will be fighting with my sensible grown up side regarding just getting on bareback. My new lad is s 5 year old Arab. He spooked when I test rode him in a saddle and previous owner never rode bareback. I really MUST be sensible.
 
Lol I had to do that with newly backed horse for a few weeks until saddle arrived!

Nothing like a bit of improvisation :)

Also must see more pictures he sounds awesome.
 
Haha we always do that with the cobs too :)

I shall post some once she's lost some weight ;) She's connie x something else native anyway. But had a few foals previously so has a bit of a foal belly on top of that too!
