to my total relief they are very chilled and happy!!

Thursday was move day, and I was very nervous. My riding mare hasn't lived anywhere else since she was 3, she is now 15. My filly had never travelled in a lorry before. (lovely boss transported them for me). I've had horses where they were for over 20 yearsm so very fearful of the unknown.
Unfortuantly, my boss got mega delayed during the day due to the torrential downpours us here in the south were experiencing, so it wasn't til 6pm the lorry turned up. A damp, cold and getting dark evening was not helping much, but we were moving and that was that!
MeggyD my riding mare, caused a few heart fluttering moments. She was so shocked by the size of the lorry and the rush from field to ramp she stood there star struck, and for an awful split second I thought she may cause me trouble loading. But, she soon marched up the ramp, turned sideways ... and.... then she....BUCKED. She continued bucking while the little filly just went 'oh, ok then' and walked up. The lorry was rocking enough to make anyone sea sick so I although cross at MD, I was chufted with the filly!!
Both travelled well, and at unloading, the filly just walked off, as if she'd been doing it every day for her entire 1 year of life. MeggyD on the other hand, wasn't going to come so quietly, and being second is not good enough when you are a competitive opinonated so and so. My dad who was on hand, thought he was in control, but after being towed off, clattering down the ramp, my boss in fits of laughter as man can clearly not hold 15hh of barginess (rude MeggyD). Meanwhile, filly is just wondering what all the fuss is about.
Turned them out in a nice, but with too much grass field, and they went, 'oh, home then?'. Seems like they have been here months not hours! They have met their elderly field friend and all seems very settled. I have masses to unpack, but I am happy that all is well. Now, to investigate some new rides.
