But I didn't realise it was going to pour down quite so hard all night, so I didn't rug the boys. They clearly decided to rug themselves...

Alf didn't look quite as minging as Jim - until I got closer...

The little ones came back after a few nights at home, looking all clean and pretty. They took one look at the filthy bog monsters, conferred amongst themselves and decided that pretty little girls didn't talk to dirty old men - they took themselves off to the other end of the field and turned their backs very firmly...

Ummm not so happy about the rain dance - I took my youngster out on a solo hack... It was glorious when I set off... My nice boots, breeches and a tee shirt - an hour out and the heavens opened - I got 'knicker' wet, as we call it in our house - excessively unpleasant... I just kept thinking of my drizabone in the car...

Yuk! I decided to leave Mudmonster No 1 to fester in the field - he can go hacking tomorrow if it's rained again and he has been washed off a bit. Joys of having an older chap who doesn't need to be ridden!

Im relieved to have rain at last, thanks! It was worth sweating like a navvy getting the lawn mown last night after work. Blasted dogs have ruined it, there are dozens of mini potholes! The hover mower doesn't!

I'm very excited - the baldest bit of the field has a distinct green tinge to it today! I had quite a while to gaze at it, as Alf would NOT move from in front of the car!
