Do these exist yet? I have a fantastic navy show jacket which is pure mesh, its so cool and stretchy to compete in. However Im doing a working hunter soon and they thought of putting on my tweed hacking jacket makes me feel hot already, I absolutely hate being hot riding and get hot quickly! Does anyone know of any jackets yet that are mesh or highly ventilated at least but with the tweedy sort of pattern that I could get away with for showing?

I think the correct turnout for working hunter should be traditional; tweed jacket that reaches the cantle and of a sufficient weight to hang well, velvet hunt cap and long butcher style boots. I wear a sleeveless cotton shirt underneath mine on warm days and only put the jacket and gloves on to go into the ring. Similarly I’ll swap my light weight ventilated helmet for a hunt cap just prior to going in. There are lighter weight tweeds available but stretchy polyester would be a big no from me.

Thanks will look at that Northern Hare.

Thanks Quigleyandme but for me Im more than happy to break tradition. I want modern fabrics these days as its insane to be expected to perform at our best as riders if we're boiling hot in silly thick wooly jackets on a hot summers day.
