Another vote for Dunlops. Only £15 and last as long as any of the expensive ones I have had - and I do everything in mine.
 
I've got the muck boot co ones like the pic & I love them:) I usually just roll the tops down though & wear them as a short boot which totally defeats the object of finding a boot which fits my large calves!!
 
I second the recommendation of Agile wellies! I have just got a pair of all singing, all dancing neoprene lined ones with the super chunky treads, and have tones of room around the calf and ankles where I would usually struggle to find something that doesn't cut off circulation lol!
They are really flattering, despite looking a bit clumsy, and sooo comfortable!!! I even where mine when dressage writing as they keep my feet so cosy and look so good with jeans :)

ah now there's big calves and then there's mine! I love my dunlop wellies (forget which version but they're black and ribbed - ohh err!!)

they fit my chunky 17" calves plus jeans, the agile ones fit too but the dunlops are much better padded on the foot IMO and give great traction for walking up slippery slopes :)
 
Muckboots are good. And I have just bought some Aigle parcours, the come gusseted or full zip and are nice and close at the ankle too, so your feet don't slip in them.
 
I usually get the muckboots, but the riding hybrid ones. This year at Bramham when it poured and we were camping, I bought a cheaper version of the muckboot, for about £20, a HKM neoprene welly. Absolutely fab - have worn them all this wet summer and they're great!
 
Muckboot Tynes!! Fab for bigger calves, and I manage to roll all kinds of flared jeans up inside them. Add that to the fact they're warm, are like slippers to wear and I got mine brand new off t'internet for £40, can't go wrong :)
 
tried muck boots but found they used to wrinkle at the ankle and rub,
used to wear bridgedale dry boots( hill walking boots only in rubber) but they seem to have gone off the market,
so got a cheap pair of wellies from my local farmers store and cut a split a couple of inches down back found, they were best with an extra inner sole in cold weather.
 
I have largish but not massive calves. 38cm circumference - I can just about fit in normal zip-up boots which are usually about 37cm (talking fashion wise rather than wellies) but the zips usually break as they're under so much pressure! I have Aigle Parcours which have a gusset and a buckle but I don't have the gusset stretched out at all, so they'd easily accommodate another 4-5 cm. Thwy are also really warm, comfy and have a good grippy sole. Can't say how long lasting they are as they're less than a year old, but not showing any signs of wear.

Before that I had Ariat mudbusters - plenty wide enough but they split after a year.

Incidentally if you do want any to wear away from the yard Duo boots are really good as they do loads of different widths. Expensive but good! That's not advertising, just trying to help people with the same problem as me!
