Wellie woes

I'm another who'd say give Aigle another chance if you like them. I've only had mine 2 years as opposed to the 10 that some people have mentioned but they're still as good as new and the comfiest wellies I've ever had. It does sound like you've had a faulty pair rather than that being the norm. Have you got the neoprene lined ones? (sorry no idea about the model names) I can highly recommend them for warmth if you haven't, worth shelling out the extra- would think they would offer an extra barrier for water as well if a tiny leak does spring?

They were neoprene lined, and were supposed to have this special stuff (outlast) which held heat from your feel and dispersed it when they were cold... load of old rubbish! I paid extra as they sounded fab. My feet were pretty blinking cold in them tbh. To the point of being numb all winter, and it wasn't even a particularly cold one!

The lining was also no sort of barrier at all against a split in the seal. :(

The lining of the insole was a bit disappointing too- it had all worn away and I was going to have to look into buying another insole to put in them if they hadn't started taking in water!

it shouldn't be necessary, but when my Muckboots started to crack and leak, I wore Sealskinz waterproof socks inside - made the boots last a bit longer and kept my feet warm!

Isn't it a bonkers world when socks keep your feed drier than wellies?

Not a lot of help to OP but wanted a moan re Hunters. My last pair went 2 weeks and then started with squelchy heels and leaking. The retailer replaced them very grudgingly and said I had worn them too much!! In a fortnight!!
I have the old fashioned Dunlop farmer wellies now and they are tough but not as comfy as Hunters.
