Wellies and socks - arghhhh. Any tips?

This seems to happen to me no matter what brand of welly I wear! Insoles help and the best socks I have found are Decathlon sports socks

‘ProTrek Mountain Comfort Top’ I get them from HJ Socks www.hj.co.uk

Nothing wrong with Aigle Wellies, I currently have some and there is not much wrong with many makes of Wellingtons. Though some are better for walking in than others.

It is the Sock Construction that is always the issue.
The Best Sock, are ones that have an elasticated ankle.

I live in Hertfordshire and along with the rest of the Country, mud has been most prominent under foot.
My long Wellie Walks are with my Dog, Fergus and they are long walks too, so my socks are well tested.

The Socks that currently work for me, with no movement or gathering into the foot of the boot, are ‘ProTrek Mountain Comfort Top’
So google that or I get them from HJ Socks www.hj.co.uk
About £15 a pair.

Enjoy, Ash

Dubarry socks. Either the technical ones or, even better, the fitted left and right ones (I can't remember what mine are called and the name's changed anyway - I'm just getting near replacing a few). I cannot be doing with socks that slide down and end up in a giant lump around your toes. These socks do not move! I've been wearing these socks for years and even though they're pretty expensive, if you search around you can get them at good prices. I'm a postie and walk a shedload of miles every day besides looking after my two horses, which all involves various footwear. These socks are crown jewels of socks and they behave perfectly with shoes/ wellies/ Ariats/ Trainers/ etc. Love them!

ETA Another tip: Always go with socks that are on the tight side, never a bit big.

I have been losing socks in my Aigles for about 15 years, shame as they’re awesome wellies.

OH has a different weird problem Aigles twist his trousers around his calves tighter and tighter... he’s gone back to le Chameau.

Get some long ski socks (Sports Direct do some). Pull those on, then pull your thermal tights/long johns on over the top (you are wearing those at the moment, aren't you, go on, own up), then put your boots on.

Apart from one type of sock the Woof Wear ones which actually are the tightest I’ve not had an issue with socks falling down in my Aigles. I bought mine bigger than I usually wear and have an additional insole in them so I don’t know if that makes a difference.

Yep I have same problem have tried all sorts but at the moment shires support socks seem to be ok or woof wear long socks as long as my trousers/jods are tucked in, it does only seem to affect my left foot though which is weird !!?
