At the moment, I am using Muckboots which I find very comfortable but when it is icy they are very slippy. I have tried Hunters, which are useless too. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good wellie that is used every day that has a good grip when it is icy. Thanks

I have Aigle Parcours ISO wellies and the grip is really good in mud and ice. They weren't cheap but I wear them for around 14hrs a day for 6 months of the year and this will be their 4th winter.

Hi Muckboots are really good, have you seen the Muckboot Chore Hi (http://www.aivly.co.uk/product_55024.htm) the grip looks really good on these, the Ariat Mudbuster Tall Wellingtons also sound good they have a non-slip outsole tread system is designed to provide excellent traction in mud and other wet surfaces as well as in the stirrup (http://www.aivly.co.uk/product_51342.htm). The Hunter Neoprene rage also looks really good & there are a few styles to choose from (http://www.aivly.co.uk/brands/hunter/)

But the best I have seen for grip are the Ceres wellies from Le Chameau they have a Tread sole from Michelin, they don’t seem to be on the website but Aivly do stock these as they are on their Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?...26542532.76421.234709046542740&type=1&theater) the soles on these look super tough!!!!

Hope that helps!!!!

Muck Boot Chore. Mine are certainly doing the job so far.

The Muck Boots with a riding sole don't have much of a tread compared to the Chore.

I have Muck Boot Chore, they have soles like 'tractor tyres', you won't get better grip on any wellie ans de won't get cold feet either. The only problem is I end up bringing a lot of mud home in the tread.

You can stick with Muckboots but you need the Thurso model, they are designed for farms and have very good tread (way better than my Le Chameau or Hunter ones) - worth considering

Thanks for all your help! Im going to stick with the muckboots,so going to look at the Chore and the Thurso. Thanks

Best non slip wellies I've found are plain Dunlops, a tenner from The Factory Shop! After a lfetime of 'being posh' and wearing Hunters (when they were well made) all day and every day I wouldn't change back from Dunlops if it's just for yard work. If you want 'tidy' wellies look at the Town & Country range, based on the hunter and seem to last better nowadays although their soles aren't as good as the Dunlops. I thought I'd be able to treat myself to a new pair this year but the tread is still as good as ever and I'm on my third year with them so def' the best tenner I've spent on equipment!
