I've always had hunters but my last pair doesn't seem to have lasted long at all and not very impressed. Looking for a new pair of wellies for the winter. Any recommendations?

I got Tyne Muck Boots last winter and they are fabulous, although not the prettiest Ive ever seen. Toastie warm feet all through the winter and they are still like new despite never being off my feet for months. The only criticism I would have is that the soles don't have brilliant grip and I found them quite slippy in the ice, had to walk a bit carefully!!

I'd be interested to hear people's recommendations too, as my Hunters have been pretty disappointing over the last couple of years - in fact I'm on my third pair in less than two years :(.

I heard they were now being made in China, which is why their quality isn't what it used to be. At around £50 a pair, I think it's a bit ripe!

Hunter are rubbish in my opinion, you are just paying for the name. Original factory just along the road from us, although think the main production has moved from there now, but really I don't think they are worth the money. I got a pair of Muck Boot wellies beginning of last winter and love them, they are so cosy!:)

I have hunters because they come in purple but everyone at my yard loves their Tynne muckboots. They seem to buy a pair once every three or four years where I reckon on a pair every winter. They're too ugly for me but the others just love them. Apparently if you buy the new extreme ones or something they come with decent grip on them. They cost as much as hunters but they do seem to last better.
