Wellies

I use the cheapo Dunlop willies for day to day use too. I wear them practically every day for lengthy amounts of time and they're still going strong. Last pair only needed replacing because I accidently punctured one with a pitch fork :o :rolleyes:

Muck boots, I can't complain thick mud all winter , 2nd winter and not a leak! Got mum some purple expensive things from muck boot and they are fab! Thought it was just me who was exopensive on Wellies. Have cheapy pair but so thin soled can feel every stone!

Not tried them as simply cannot afford them :o

I'm a dog walker / cat / horse sitter by trade, so my wellies get Hammered! Think mucking out, 4-5 hrs of dog walking, lots of driving, and also yard chores & riding on a daily basis (on a busy busy day)

Hunters lasted a month before the buckles fell off and the soles wore through (like this but all the way through)

Muck Boot Tyne, 9 months in, doing very well, I've had warm feet all winter :) However just noticed today that they are almost at the same stage as the pic above :(

Shallow as it is I'd really like a swish pair of country boots, but I don't think I can afford anything that would live up to the daily abuse :o
 
Le Cham non neoprene are about the same price as hunters.
I don't use wellies 2 or 3 days a week on average through the year so can't really comment on lasting but my 4YO hunters have lasted weekend horse use and my 3YO Dunlop steel toe caps having lasted 3 months of farm work. My Windermeres haven't leaked yet but I don't use them in mud and when I do I hose them off!
 
I bought some funky purple 'Rok' wellies from local tack shop - £30.... lasted a week then split :/ so I went for the Lidl option 7.99 I muck out in them every day but still going strong after several months so bought an additional pair for daughter :D

Will say though - ned leant round while I was doing up leg straps and bit the buckle off!!!! :eek: Cue me lunging at her like a wild thing to rummage in mouth and retrieve. Phew - vet bill averted and I took a pair of scissors to the other one before we had a repeat performance.

I'm sorry but if can afford to replace your muck boots every year, then spend a bit extra and get le chemau ;)

I've had mine 4 years now, still going strong, they are neoprene lined and think they cost me about £80/£90 quid

You pay your money you take your choice ;)

The neoprene Chameaus are more like £200odd, I thought?

My Muck Boot Tynes have been going strong for 3 winters now (and much of summer at times!) - have never had such warm feet before, even in the coldest of temperatures. My OH's have split at the back, though.

What about Buckboots or Seeland: anyone tried them?

I've recently bought some neoprene Hunters when they were on offer for £30 - despite all the bad reviews, impossible to resist! I'd never tried them before and it's too soon to tell how long they will last, but I can say that they are not nearly as comfy, and the neoprene doesn't seem as thick, as the Muck boots.

Bought my mum some Muck Boot Avons (mainly for dogwalking on the muddy cumbrian fells), and she loves them. Good grip, and very warm.

When my last pair of Hunters split after only about a year's wear (the first pair I had lasted 14 years!) I decided no more expensive wellies. I just didn't want to spend shedloads on another brand that may not last either. So off to Matalan, £20 later and one very happy customer!

They're comfy, come in loads of colours and patterns (if that floats your boat - mine are boring green) and are doing the job in the appalling weather we've been having extremely well.

Only two slight downsides - I overtightened the buckles and they've come away from the sides, and I needed a size bigger than normal to make room for winter socks. But hey, a hell of a lot better that spending £70+ on something that quite frankly won't last any longer than the cheapy ones.

They are just basic le chemau :confused: nothing fancy (although they do have some v posh wellies) .... Ahhhh just remembered I got them from a shooting shop so maybe they didn't have HAT (horse added tax :D)
 
If you want cosy toes try the Aigle Iso Parcours. I got horrid chilblains on my feet over Christmas from wearing my old faithful original Hunters, which in fairness lasted me a good few years... Anyway, I work in an equestrian/ country shop and decided I'd treat myself to a nice pair of Hunter Lady Balmorals as I love the look of them, however when I tried them on they didn't feel nearly as comfy as I thought they would. Cue my wretched workmate suggesting I try on the Aigles instead. And that's the end of that story...

But honestly, I've only had them since January but feel they have already paid for themselves.... Haven't had cold feet at the yard once since I bought them, and chilblains are a thing of the past :)

Only problem now is I'm on the hunt for some cheapy Summer wellies as my feet get too hot in the Aigles at the moment! Typical eh?!
 
I bought some Hunter Lady Balmoral boots and they are great. Can't comment on durability though as only had them a couple of months (but worn them every day 8 hours a day since and they are like when I bought them). I had some Muck Boots before hand which were warm but the soles went smooth within 12mths of buying them.
