I have just splashed out on a pair of new wellies. I always buy cheapies apart from the early days of Hunter wellies well over 30 yrs ago when I had a pair that were brilliant. I saw someone recommending these either on here or facebook and had a look. They are from The Warm Welly Company and are fabulous. They fit beautifully, are warm and so nice I didn't want to get them dirty. I got purple ones for a change from green. Packing was good too, strong brown paper bag and cardboard box. Just hoping they are durable. So if anyone needs wellies have a look. Rubber outer, neoprene inner. With postage they cost me £64 which I didn't think was bad at all. My New Year present to myself.
 
Me too. Mine were a Christmas present to myself as my feet were getting soaked from the various holes after 4 years solid use. I didn’t see the ones from the Warm Welly Company and was going to buy some Grubbs Frostline but in the end I got a replacement pair of Aigle reduced to £80 from Hope Valley.
 
Very nice! I just got a pair of standard Ariat Radcots for £60 as I love my insulated Radcots and they're just as comfy. I like Ariat everything but I specifically like these wellies as they don't have a little strap at the top on the side which serves no purpose, IMHO, except to annoy me by catching on stuff, get fiddled with by the arab and make a flappy or jingling noise while I walk - and they're cheaper for omitting the pointless things :D

Glad to hear they are ok ordered myself a pair on Wednesday and had an email they should be arriving on Tuesday, I have gone for purple ones as well. Hoping they are going to be a bit warmer than my old basic cheap wellies never spent so much on a pair of wellies :)

I too hate the side buckles! I’ve often wondered about but never tried the Ariat wellies. Be interested to hear how they last!
 
I have just got pair of Fitflop wellies. Not neoprene so may not be warm when the weather turns cold.
£90 on Fitflop website, £40 on Amazon. Hoping they last longer than the £100+ Grubs that split after a month!

I've bought these for my kids for a few years. They are great. My daughter loves her short ones. She's a size 6 but not very tall.

They're all really small sizes.

Poiuytrewq, I've had insulated Radcots for over a year and they're still doing well. I always have two pairs of wellies on the go at once, though (so they should be expected to last twice as long as only one pair).

I've just had a look at these. Like the sound of them, and nice that it is a small UK company using decent quality materials. If you're happy to answer, could I ask:
-Would you say they are true to size?
-Also, I have narrow calves and hate wellies flapping around - are the calves reasonably narrow?
-How are they wearing? Still waterproof?

I would say true to size. They do 2 styles, one with buckle, one without. I wanted the ones without but they had sold out so ended up with the buckle ones. Not as wide as some I have had so fit well. However my sister tried to buy some but because she takes a 9 had to have the men's version and I wouldn't recommend them for slim legs. They aren't as long in the leg as my Warm wellies.
I am still very happy with mine, I have the short version as well and both pairs are still waterproof but haven't done enough to really test durability.
 
How wide are the calves? I've had my eye on these for ages but I find hunter too narrow...so wasn't sure how wide these come up.
 
Just measured mine, back to front 6" hard to judge width but they do have a gusset. My legs are pretty average and I have plenty of room, no idea how well they would fit wide calves. They are an excellent firm to deal with so you could always send them back if not suitable.

For the first time ever I splashed out on Aigle as they were so comfortable. Only thing is that I've lost the receipt so if they split I'll be stuck.

Was it the rainline that split? They split twice with a friend, I have the frostline ones and they are so much better

Did you send the Grubs back for a refund? £100 and they split after a month?? I don't think so!
 
Thank you EP for taking the time to write that info - really useful.

I suspect I’ll find them a bit too wide (the wellies I love but which have been discontinued are 5”) although will mull it over. They do sound good.

I had a pair of Hunters and they split within 6 months. OH had some Grubs frostline which were lovely but started leaking after 3 months! So am not buying either of those makes again.
 
Update: I ended up buying a pair of BOGs, partly because I thought they looked as though they might be more narrow around the calf:

They measure 6 inches across at the top, so the same as the warmerwellies ones. So too much of a gap for my liking, but have kept them anyway as suspect most will be the same. They are nice and light, and have a good layer of neoprene. Hopefully they'll last!
