Thought i would give a little report on our two day show at Wellington. Archie and i havent competed since the end of May so i knew it would be interesting to say the least!

Arrived at the yard to find the monster fast asleep in his stable, obviously mentally preparing himself for his two days ahead

Got to Welly, organised his stable etc and warmed up for the elementary freestyle. Bless him he was a total angel, he actually didnt put a foot wrong the whole time we were there.

We've already qualified for the elementary freestyle regionals, so i was just using this as a warmup. I rode like a pleb in the test, totally messed up my simple changes and he broke in one of the medium trots. I was just pleased i started and finished when my music did
grin.gif
So i was complete shocked when i saw my score of 68.33%

Ended up coming 2nd in the restricted and 4th overall out of a very large class so extremely pleased with that as if i hadnt made mistakes he wouldve got a plus 70% score.

Next up was the elementary petplan - unfortnuately i had to ride open even though im still restricted elementary, as i was doing the medium petplan the following day. Anyways Archie was completly knackered by the time the test came, i rode like a muppet again and altho nothing went wrong he was tired and not going forwards enough and was getting overbent. Ended up on 60.52% which was nowhere near the bottom of the class, i think around 10th - the marks where very low.

Tucked him up in his stable and went home for some sleep, then an early start yesterday morning to get back to Welly to plait him up for the medium. Warmed up really nicely and he felt super. Unfortunately idiot mummy rode like a spastic again and went wrong

The thing was i did another FOUR movements until the judge rang the bell, so i had no idea what id done wrong
crazy.gif
She then called me over and said id missed out a walk pirouette, god knows where she was looking as since the walk pirouette id done an extended trot, half pass, 10m circle and a walk transition....... So i had to go back and do it all again. I was a bit annoyed as it shows she was paying no attention to my test what-so-ever.......

Ended up on 60% which i was actually very pleased with, hes only done a couple of mediums and is no way ready for this level yet. The judge at C however gave me 62% (wouldve been 63% if i hadnt gone wrong) but the judge at E only gave me 57%
crazy.gif
Not really sure why as i didn wait for my sheets, but she always marks me low for some reason - i had a 15 point difference between the judges.....

Anyways, onwards and upwards! We're off to Royal Leisure on 10th October to do the Elementary Restricted Petplan this time, and the medium music freestyle so looking forwards to that.

Sorry its a bit boring, didnt get any piccies im afraid!

Onwards and upwards indeed!!! Well done with your music score, brilliant.

Ruddy judge in the medium, arrrggghhhh. That's so unfair.

Good luck at Royal Leisure.

Hi Temps, glad you're getting out and about with Arch again
smile.gif
and thanks for reminding me that I need to change my section for the ele petplans to open as I'm also doing the medium - hadn't even thought of that!
FAB score for your freestyle!! And congrats for your petplans, shame that the judge let you go for so long without ringing the bell?!

I really enjoy the music - i reckon i can fit a medium floor plan to my elementary music quite easily just by changing the legyields to halfpass etc but basically keeping it the same. Am looking forwards to doing it at RL as id like to qualify him for the medium music regionals too.

RL is a mission away from me (over 2hrs), and im going on my own too so it should be interesting
crazy.gif
Its the only one i can get to tho as im in Ibiza when most are on.

I know, i honestly dont know what she was watching, but it just proves she wasnt paying any attention to what i was doing

RL will be our last competition this year, so fingers crossed!! (apart from some more freestyles)

Hi Tempi,

Do come down to Crofton Manor when you get back. We have new organisers and things go really smoothly there now.

Look forward to seeing you at some time.

Have a great hol.

Ahhh cool thanks, Em hasn't been in since and didn't get much out of A about it!
Yes i'd love to help at RL, let me know your times and as long as it doesn't clash with work (only do a few hours on a fri anyway so should be fine!) i'll be there
