I used to have a couple of these, bought them at a sale for curiosity , but never used them, i was told that somebody used them and the wire that goes through the middle snapped and the horse bolted , which I reckon it would, rider came off and wellep was sued , don't know how true or false this is maybe someone else could shed some light.
Actually, I beg to differ. They look a tad unconventional but if you read the info page, it becomes clear that they are not leverage monsters, and no worse than a snaffle (or any other bit) in bad hands.
As above, has anyone who says they're evil read the theory behind them? I don't have an opinion as have never used them but I suspect it's the look that puts people off, as horse people do not deal well with change.
We've just got used to looking at the bits we've got and I'm constantly amazed how many people seriously underestimate the force various bits apply since they "see them everywhere" and somehow that means they're "okay".
