I need some advice on what welly boots to go for. Its my birthday coming up and both my current pairs have holes in so thought I would ask for some new ones. I have a budget of about £60-70. I've had hunters in the past but think that the quality has really gone downhill. My friend has to return hers every 6 months as the rubber cracks. I have also had Ariat wellys which I had to return and the second pair now has a massive split, missing buckle and broken heel after about 9 months. I think £60 is quite a lot to spend on wellys and I would like something that is going to last, but from what I've seen unless you spend upwards of £100 you just get a load of rubbish!

Agree about the hunters I stopped buying them for the same reason although a stallholder at Windsor tried to convince me they had sorted the quality issues out.

I have Woof boots at the moment which are rubber at the bottom but material at the top so not completely waterproof only splashproof above ankle height. They are really comfortable and warm in winter so I love them. They also have adjustable straps on the sides.

I haven't managed to find wellies that are comfy and not clod hoppers yet. Idid look at all the tradestands at Windsor but the wellies seem very narrow at the moment. A pair I bought online a size bigger than normal give me pins and needles because they are too narrow and I don't have particularly wide feet.

I'll be interested to see what people use too.

I bought wellies down the local agri supplies/hardware place. 10 euros, black or green. They are shorter in the leg than normal wellies so suit me fine. Not elegant but built to last

I have been using Muckboot wellies the only draw back is that I find them wearable in summer as I find the Neoprene upper is to hot for me. But in the winter they are wonderful. They have one style that you can ride in. I think I paid about £45 for the last pair.

I must be lucky with my Hunters they've lasted 3 years and still going strong! And they do get worn most days in the winter and even summer! I do like the look of the muckboots though.

I have sherwood forest boots the mayward style. THey're brown leather ones and r brilliant, they cost me 50 quid from a tradestand. I ride in them, walk the dog, work round the farm. People have thought that they were dubarrys so you can tell the look and quality.

I have hunters and although they are very comfy they're not lasting very well.

So far they have:
- cracked
- heel has rubbed down to nothing
- Buckles have come off
- Holes in the heels

Always suprised about how tough and long lasting ordinary cheap green wellies you can get from countrywide are!

Queenjude you probably have a pair of old hunters before the manufacturers changed. I have had mine for about 4 years and they leak but I still prefer them to my Ariats. Not keen on the Muckboots as I would prefer something completely waterproof. May try Aigle. Any other suggestions?
