Please can anyone recommend me good wellies? My Ariat ones (similar to Burford but not exactly the same) have decided to split after three years service. Have had many pairs of Hunters and they don't last, and also a pair of Le Chameau All Tracks which were very stylish but not as comfy, am open to suggestions! Are Aigle any good? I prefer lighter weight ones for climbing over sheep pens, the Ariat ones were so heavy!!!

Dunlop purofort, lovely and light, some versions are more stylish than others ;). Mine are improved by a good pair of insoles but stay waterproof!

I think waterproof, lasting wellies appear to be a thing of the past. I am considering buying sealskinz socks so I can ignore the dampness and replace them less often!

I loved my first pair of muck boots, but they expired eventually and my second pair always leaked - I couldn't quite pin it down and convinced myself I was imagining it so never contacted them to be fair. The day I came home and had to tip a considerable amount of water out of my left boot convinced me to just bin them. I'm now on cheap and nasties - they aren't the best, but the are keeping my feet dry and for £5 (kids section) I won't cry when they give up

aigle parcours for me, i am on my 5th winter and they are waterproof and warm. the only disadvantage is in the warmer weather they can be a bit too warm but as its rare that i need to wear wellies on the warm days i dont really mind. if you calculate a yearly cost its less than £40 per year, good value IMO

I’m on my second pair of anti fatigue Aigle and I’ll never get any others ever again. Last me longer than other and are like wearing slippers!! I live in mine being a farmer and even in freezing winters they keep my feet just right. Great grip too. No more achy feet at the end of the day. LOVE them.

Definitely Dunlop's. Mine have lasted many years and I bought them second hand!! You can get a new pair on amazon for £10.. I wouldn't go for hunters as the price is insane and only last a month or so...

I tried rudds on at YHL and was impressed by how lightweight and comfy they seemed.
But then le chameau had a stupidly good deal on for black Friday so I bought another pair of le chameau..! I love them, they're my 3rd pair in 8(?) years. They get worn daily, pretty used and abused and are so comfy. They seem to last about 3 or 4 years, I'm happy with that so don't mind spending the money up front. (Though I have been lucky to buy all mine in different sales)

I love my agile wellies! I wear them all day 7 days a week, have had them for over a year now and they're still doing great, mine get used for everything: horses, sheep, shooting, dog walks...

Aigle Parcours for me - I bought them based on recommendations on here, nearly passed out at the price for a pair of wellies ?, but I absolutely love them! Really comfortable, going strong in their second (or maybe third??) year, I wear them daily in winter/wet weather, they are great!

Agree Aigle Parcours are fab, l‘m considering buying a new pair, current ones are now at least 6 years old, worn every day for at least 4 hours.

I’m a welly killer. I’ve tried so many brands and they all split and leak.
Ariat (which I love), Grubs (useless, ugly things) are two of the better brands I’ve tried recently. Both split within weeks. I tried Hunters again as I got them really cheap in a sale. They lasted 2 months and split so got a refund.
I tried garden centre wellies- They just let water in instantly.
Just before Christmas I was desperate, wearing plastic bags over my feet and split wellies, so I popped into sports direct and picked up a pair of glossy Kangol wellies for £20. So far, so good. Warm, comfortable, no leaks, splits and no damp feet. No doubt they won’t last ages, but at £20, I’m more than happy if they only get me through this winter and I replace them for next. Plus they are tall wellies. I can’t stand those mid calf monstrosities.

My Agile parcours spilt within weeks. I think I've tried most quality brands, spending between £100+ up to £170. None are any good, although I've had better luck with ariats which at least get through the winter. Interestingly, my previous ariats spilt after several months but remained waterproof and kept my feet dry despite some large splits around the foot and ankle. Current ones are doing well after 5 months...
The best boots are leather Le Chameau and Ariat which must be 16 years old and are worn for yard jobs, riding and hiking.
