so I've just got too old to ride ponies at Bsja so I'm "changing" my ponies main job from prime jumping pony (letting youngster do my jumping aspirations) and was wondering about some showing ....

She does have very flashy paces and v good blood lines so I thought why not, also gives her a competing job as she gets older

She's a 13.2hh Welsh c liver chestnut

how do i go about this?
what classes, tack, show gear?
general help? ANYTHING!!!

It would probably be a complete tack and outfit change!

Have you considered Workers? No age limit on M&M workers and you'd still get to jump - that's the key part of the class. If you can negotiate a technical course clear than that's most of the class done!

Plain bridle with hunter style noseband - snaffle for a novice or double/pelham for an open. (Open workers you'd get away with a something like a Universal gag style bit and a martingale)
Saddle - pref not a jump saddle (unless workers) plain discreet numnah and girth
Front boots are allowed in the jumping phase of workers

You:
Tweed
Shirt
Tie
Brown gloves
Navy hat
Short plain whip (pref a leather type but a plain discreet normal one would be ok as long as its not a bright colour!)
Beige/canary jods
Long black boots (although some adult Sec C riders will be in jod boots - depends on type of pony and overall look of the rider/pony combo)

Make sure your hair is tidy, back in a bun net or similar :)

Have a look at the WPCS showing guide for the general rules about turnout, permitted tack etc. I'm sure it's available on their website though if you are a member you will have received a booklet with the journal.
you've got a few types of classes you could do - ridden and workers as well as in hand. There are a number of Welsh breed shows around the country, lots of the bigger one-day agricultural shows will have decent M&M classes or sometimes Welsh, county shows have Welsh classes.
If you know someone who shows Welsh (perhaps a local breeder) pick their brains on presentation in-hand, it's quite an art-form. Take some time over the winter to have a practice if you've not done it before.
