Hi,
Could anyone suggest any saddle makes that may fit my chunky welsh cob? He is currently in a hilton jump saddle which I think is a wide but he has outgrown it. I'm 5ft 6 but have quite a long thigh so would really need a jumping saddle which would accomodate this without being too long as he is quite short cuppled. He also has quite big shoulders.

I fit my lovely saddle nicely but sadly, he doesn't. So unless the saddler can mess around with the flocking (it was well flocked when we got him as he was fairly poor) he will need a replacement. I'm currently riding him in my old ponies barnsby saddle which is an extra wide. It is a lovely saddle but does not fit me!!!

Does anyone have any suggestions for a jump style saddle which would suit him so I know what sort of direction to go in if his saddle doesn't fit

Thanks

have a look at the Kent and Masters. They are made by thorowgood on their cob tree. I have one and love it. Nice leather and around £799 adjustable gullet too. A few of us on here have them search for kent and masters. we all love them

If you want TG to a synthetic one too

Try ideal jumping saddle maybe, they are made for wider horses with flatter withers! I have an ideal grandee but am in similiar position that don't think it fits pony anymore :(

I jump my welsh in a colligiate jumping saddle which fits him well and a Jefferies WH saddle,it has a fairly big knee roll. He has a BIG jump so knee rolls vvv much needed,he jumped my pro sj friend off over a 2ft 3 upright the other day,a good 5ft!!!! oops
