Anyone here had there Welshie since a youngster. When I got Cracker at 3 1/2yrs he was 15.1 maybe 15.2, but measured 15.3 - 16hh this summer and I reacon he's grown since. I've been told they are late developers but would be interested in when people's Welsh's stopped growing. His mum was 15.1hh and his dad 14.2hh, so don't know how he's got this big.

Oh i'm not sure - my firend is a real welshie! But she is on holiday. She has two at the moment, one is five and i think he has stopped growing now. The other lad is 2 and a bit and he seems to be having a huge growing spurt!

mine was 14.1hh at 2 years old and finished up at 15.1hh, can't remember any more specific than that - she's ten now!!!

I got my Sec D at 5 yrs old and he both filled out physically in stature and grew a bit too...not much but deff got a little taller between 5 and 6 yrs old. He had not done anything when I got him so he really matured physically with all the work and hills round me! But I would say they are pretty late developers both mentally and physically.

Not sure about when they stop growing but they don't mature until into double figures I believe. Mine certainly changed at around 9 yrs and became a grown up thank god ...

I bred my mare and she was a big chunky foal and is now a full up 15.1 she had a growth spurt from 4 to 5 and got to her present height at 7.

My boy was 15.1hh as a 3yo. I would say he has grown but only to 15.2hh. Dont think he's much bigger than that. But he has filled out HUGELY! And as a 6yo he still is! He was very lanky for the first 2 years and last year suddenly started chunking up so yeah I guess he was a little bit slowish to start developing, especially as he still is (and Im not sure when he'll stop, may go up in height too!). He's 100% pure muscle as well, its scary! He unfortunately knows his power though....

Your boy seems to be turning out big considering his mummy n daddy! Ive seen the 1 or 2 16hh Welshies, they are certainly impressive. I just hope my boy doesnt grow much more (width wise or up wise!).

My first welsh C was bourght as a foal. His mum was 12hh and his dad was 13.1hh. At 3 years old he was just over 13hh, by the time he was 7 years old he measured just over 13.3hh. Which meant he measure out. When I looked into his breeding he had some welsh D so I guess thats why he grew on. You just never know what they will make. Check out the breeding if you can.
