Welsh outgrown their section?

Has anybody had a welsh outgrow their section before. My pony is a purebred registered A but has hardly any of the characteristics of an A and is 12.1-12.2 making him a B. I have been told by judges that he has outgrown his section but does it still make him a pedigree/purebred. Oh and I have had his passport checked by a vet and its deffos his and his breeding is all from A's. Just think its strange im not complaining because I can get away with riding him from the couple of inches :-D
 
I think an overgrown A is then classed as a C if you get it reregistered a section B is a different type alltogether , the As and Cs are often bred to each other while still staying of true type.
I have in my yard a very large reg section B,measuring 14.2:eek: he would lose his registration as a B and I have no idea what he would be classed as, he doesnt show so it does not really matter but would be interesting to find out.
 
Thank you I just assumed you went from A to B and so on I will ring the WPCS to see what he needs registering as x
 
I don't think A's can be graded up to another type. B's defo can't. C's go up to D's. A bit daft as strictly speaking they are all of very different type so nothing should be allowed to change section because of height.
 
It is strange, if it were dogs then they would simply not meet the standard for showing and would not be successful, I would have thought the same applied with horses too. We have 3 section A's but they are not yet at full height so I just hope they stay within the standard as they are all show ponies.
 
4. TRANSFERS BETWEEN SECTIONS

On the basis of height certified by a Veterinary Surgeon, the Society may sanction:

4.1 A transfer from Section A to Section B of stock which has grown over 12 hands.

4.2 A transfer from Section C to Section D of stock which has grown over 13 hands 2 inches.

4.3 A transfer from Section D to Section C of stock, seven years old or over, which does not exceed 13 hands 2 inches

whilst im sure there is no uper limit for D i thought i heard that a sec D over a certain height - i think its like 15hh is classed as an E? may have heard wrong though!

OP i'd deffinatly ring WPCS for a definate answer but agree that an over grown A doesnt make a B but could understand it being a C as there is no lower limit for a C (see link below) - there are some nice people there and some are very helpful - others not so . . .
