I’m showing a welsh x cob piebald not youngstock and she’s a mare how do they need to be turned out and what halter do I use e.g webbing or Hunter bridle. Can I show her like a cob and kept natural? I’m doing unaffiliated showing
Many thanks X

It really depends on the class youre entering.. When shown most cobs are hogged so something to consider!
I’m entering coloured classes and cob type and novice and child handler im not allowed to trim her as she is not mine I’ve been suggested to do a running plait in her hair x

I would show in the Coloured class over PBW. Show in a ridden bridle if an adult animal.
I’m doing coloured child handler novice and cob type I can’t trim or touch her hair as shes not mine but I’ve been told to do a running plait. Do I use a leather bridle or webbing or rope as she’s x welsh ? X

Use your leather bridle, make sure you have a caveson noseband and a plain leather browband. I would leave her mane natural. Running plaits aren't typical turnout for showing 😊

Okay thank you I’ve been told to plait as she isn’t full cob and doesn’t have the hair like a cob so I can’t turn her out like a trad x

As she Is coloured, you can show her as a coloured native type. So ideally she would have a slightly pulled and shortened mane, but as she isn't yours then leave her natural. Plaits are correct for more finer types. She won't look out of place at local level with her mane and tail loose.
