have been recommended to take my welsh here in september, anyone have any experience of this show?
what classes do they do? dressage level, sj height etc?
assume there is stabling there?
thanks

If you mean the Wpcs show then yes we have gone for a few years now.
Judging can sometimes be a little dodgy , workers course always decent track catches a lot out, SJ run under Bsja rules course normally quite small, dressage on flat grass arenas the XC very hilly so need a fit horse/pony but nice fun course nothing too testing there.

They dont stable on the showground anymore...the stabling is at the RWAS showground about 15 miles north of the showground where there is hard standing and showers etc.. They used the facilities there for the last couple of years and we prefer it to the previous year when everyone was stabled at neighbouring yards etc ...we were stabled at a farm literally at the top of a mountain scary drive up to the farm and the farmer very kindly had to remove his gate and post to get my rather large lorry in as they didnt check what size vehicle you were driving !!!!

They normally supposed to be Nps Intermidiate Height which is only 2ft 9, but last few years they have appeared to be at open height which is 3ft 3 ..well built course bullfinch, water trays with ducks etc . Worker ring on a slight hill and course builders favourite trick is to have fences only a couple of strides off a turn.

It should say in the schedule for defo re height or the secretary really nice you could always check with her...there also a novice worker class too!

Hi, sorry to hijack post!

When is WPCS Performance Show? Where do you get schedules from? I've got a Welsh D, whose clipped and trimmed. If I did Workers, Dressage, SJ etc, would she be expected to be 'au naturel' or will they accept pulled tail etc?

We'd be better doing the 3ft 3" Workers as she's a handy jumper but rather small and light!

show is in wales, 8-9 september WPCS Performance Show (Brecon) Mrs. J. Hamar, Ty Bryn, Maesmynis, Builth Wells, Powys (01982 552714). Have got a friend getting schedule for me but ring this number from WPCS website, and im sure they will send you one!!

i know of a pony thats been there a few times always done really well and won the overall champ. Her name is hardys ribbon she is just coming back into work now after having her 2nd foal and they are selling her.
