Hi

Has anyone been to the brightwells sale in Builth wells?
Contemplating booking the fri off work and going up for a mooch about.
Is it any good?
What sort of prices do they fetch, i know it depends on the breeding really.
I went to the brecon sales a couple of months and was a bit disappointed and could have happily slapped a few of the bullying handlers there.
Has anybody bought from there? any piccies :)

Sorry for all the questions

We went to the pony sales (welsh a's and B's) and came back with a fantastic pony for my niece, sorry no pictures, but we paid £500 for her, she does hav ok breeding not the best buts shes a little superstar all the same.
Regarding the sales, I was impressed, it was the first time ive been and I never saw any ponies mishandled, they all seemed happy enough and very Clean :) im hoping to get their on the welsh D's this time and hopefully find a nice youngster

mmm yeah i think i tdepends on the sales, i went to the neath horse fair two weeks ago, 10 horses lol and pikeys galloping up and down the roads on horses that couldnt have been more than 2 and very under developed, i stayed 10 mins and left :( But thats the way they live and handle their horses i suppose.
Builth wells it is :)

Builth will be completely different to Brecon, generally there will be a much higher standard of ponies, better breeding and in better condition, I would think all of them would have been at least halter broken and most of them will be turned out well, prices will be higher then at Brecon.

The cob sale at Builth Wells is a premiere sale. Top breeders use and a lot of top class horses are sold. Some times prices go to £10,000 upwards. There is a great atmosphere, especially on the saturday when the good breeders sell. Often S4C are there filming when famous names are in the ring. Buyers come from all over the world , we sold a colt foal that went to Canada. This sale is nothing like Brecon sale or any other for that matter. If you go on the Friday there are the partbreds, geldings and ridden horses. There is good food and a bar, oh and flower displays in the ring!!
