A friend of mine has just split from her husband and has really got to sell the pony below. Please excuse the weight of the pony she is slimmer now and has more dappled markings. I actually think she is prettier now and a much better weight.

She is a straight and extravagant mover, with no blemishes. Reg Sec A 11.2hh. 6 years old. By Gregonne Gunner out of Khyber Yolande by Gilmans Goshawk. That may mean more to you than me lol!!! She has a lot of Revel, Glenfield and Coed coch in her breeding. She certainly looks a well bred litle pony.

She would easily show at county level.

She is broken to ride but has only really been used on the lead rein so would need work to develop her for first ridden. She needs to go to a more experienced home to really achieve her potential. She is lazy (Ideal for leid rein LOL!) but therefore would need a small adult to work on her off the lead rein initially.

Friend was offered £650 for a stud when unbroken and they would probably still take her so that would be the minimum, but really feels she should get a bit more more as she is broken. She needs to sell but doesnt want to give her away.

Where is the best place to advertise at low cost and how much do you think she should ask? I told her to ask £1000 and see what happens but maybe I'm under/over estimating.

I know someone who has just sold a pony like this one. Good breeding, similar age. The only thing that seems different is that it has done a bit more. It has been lightly shown as lead rein and done a bit off the lead just getting its education up. She just sold it for £2,500. I think she did well and all areas are diferent but your friend should sell it easily for £1000.

I think it also depends on areas! frinds have their section A lead rein pony for sale been local showing, very well bred pony and shes up for 800 and barley any interest so they have decided to keep her bit longer

Try advertising it on the WPCS website - if it is suitable for showing she might get more interest. Not sure if you can still advertise on the NPS website...
I was offered £900 for my Sec A mare the other week (she isn't for sale, someone at a show liked her

) - she's 10 and spent most of her life as a field ornament

Are they able to take her to a few shows?

I agree. i think that would be where she would sell her but the pony keeps putting her head under the post and rail and rubbing her mane! It definitely isnt sweet itch but doesnt look good for showing lol!! She has used electric fencing but you can guarantee the day it is not working the pony knows!

She doesnt have her own transport though so relies on me. Bit difficult as I am not really into showing.

She looks a nice little pony, but i hope you don#t mind me mentioning her tail set is low and she could do with a bit more bone about her. If she has no show history it won't help in getting a better price. Plus you mentioned that she is a bit lazy, not good news when you need a small/child jokey for her.

To be honest if your friend needs to sell her and has had a genuine offer of £650 then perhaps she should let her go. It's ok holding out for more money but how long will that take and if ever. She is not a bad little mare and some of the blood you have mentioned will stand her in good sted as a brood mare but to be honest there are many A's out there that are gorgeous and some are no where near £1000.

Tbh the pony was incredibly obese at the time. God knows how she avoided Lami, but she did. I will ask her to get some better photos. Hadnt thought about the tail and I will have a look next time! More for my own information!! I also think she would do better with some pics of her moving.

She really is a super lead rein pony and 100% in traffic but as you and others have said she needs to have been shown . She did go to one show and qualified for the championship but we went home as it was shitty weather and she really didnt stand a chance in the championship tbh! Plus i didnt want to be there all day!

I recently sold a Section by Gilmans Ganymede, must be related somehow!. he has won many M&M Championsships, placed at HOYS, fab in every way LR/FT, ridden regularly by different kids etc etc. A stunning lad, but I could not get more than £1000 here in Cornwall. It does largely depend on where you live. I'd say, with her breeding but lack of use, the fact she is a mare, maybe £1000 - £1,500.
