I am looking for a new horse and would a Welsh D, I have always wanted one and actually bought a lovely mare last year but she turned out to be pregnant  so I sold her to a lovely friend of mine with her own land. I am now on on the lookout for a new one and was hoping I could get some stud suggestions. Or if anyone knows of a nice welshy for sale......:D

Any suggestions are appreciated :)

Not sure what you're looking for, but I've seen a lovely one that I'd definitely consider had I not bought one 5 months ago. I keep going back to the add because he's really rather lovely. Will PM u the link x

Have you seen the one advertised to the right of the main forum page?
Show/Performance Welsh D.....................>

He's only a baby though, but he's gorgeous and what a beautiful colour, he is exactly why the welsh section D is by a long way my favourite breed, he's stunning x

I could buy them all lol x

What sort of age are you looking for? Do you want it 'ready made' or just sat on and needs backing? How far will you travel?

Sorry for the load of questions but if we are to go horse shopping we need details lol :D

Just 1 tip from me ..

If you want a quiet life, dont get a welsh d mare :p

I bought a welsh D filly at 9 months, she was so sweet could only be likened to an angel :)
7 months on, I still adore her, but she's a little witch!!

She had her first season at 14 months and this adorable little filly turned into a mare from hell....................is this normal lol, could you be saying dont get a welsh d mare for the same reason? x

Montyforever- haha cant be any worse than my warmblood gelding!! Hes sooooo accident prone!

Ooooo ok horsey shopping details, 15+ hands maybe smaller if take my leg up, dont mind how young but no older than 7, no preference on sex, colour etc but must be registered, dont mind if they are unbacked and budget is a max of £1500 :p

So not too difficult lol :o

You should get a nice one for 1500 if you're happy with one thats not fully established under saddle.
Its the royal welsh sales in wales next month - some serious bargains to be had and a lot of them are sold prior to the sale for knock down prices as they fetch so little at the sales.
Welsh D weanlings and yearlings go for a 100 quid, and they aren't ones with problems, they are nice filly's and colts going for that price, so you can get a 2/3 year old for well under a grand and a good one at that.
You'd have a hell of a choice also, they are all direct from the breeders so are a blank canvas for you to work with x

Lol yes we go from ..

Happy chilled Hon, plods about the field and comes galloping up to you and being all sweet :D

"leave me alone" Hon where if you even try to groom her you will get looks from hell, kicked and possibly bitten

In season Hon, where she terrifies the geldings by backing them into a corner and making them mount her :D:p

Grumpy Hon, where everything in life is terrible for poor little hon .. unless shes stuffing her face

And thats just in one week

Ha ha, I think I have your mares sister !!
During her first season at 14 months, she tried to charge me in the field and chase me out and when I wasn't for budging, turned her back end and double barrelled me!
Shocker coming from a filly so sweet she could only be described as an angel.
Brought a whole new meaning to PMT !! :(

I'm still not sure how I'm gonna handle her during these times, you can see the sheer devilment in her face :(

We're a good advertisment for Welsh D's heh, they are still my favourite breed and Lily is still my favourite horse, she just gets called the brat now lol x

I've a welsh D mare, 9 yrs of age, bought her about 6 weeks ago. She is beautiful, Loves being groomed, grooms me back, comes when I call her, so far I can do anything with her, just haven't found a nasty streak. Her registered name is Caebryn Rhapsody. I managed to contact the woman in Wales who bred her. She still has her Mum who she described as the sweetest natured horse. Maybe some research into breeding lines may help.
Only one small hiccup, she ate a whole likit and was completely manic. Fine next day. She does love her food though!.

Good luck.

I'd recommend the WPCS sale coming up mid/end Oct, which is held at the Royal Welsh showground. You could also go direct to the breeders - maybe try the WPCS website for a list of studs selling performance stock near you. Best of luck!
