OK, so am still thinking
I do think a Jazz x Weltmeyer might turn out pretty hot headed, perhaps too hot headed for ridden work... I have spoken to someone who knew the mare as a ridden horse and she had good trainability as a youngster which is good to know
She was actually bred by the breeder of Weltmeyer too
However, this is truly going to be my horse of a lifetime, so I don't ever want to think 'what if...' if that makes sense
I want to use the best possible stallion I can as this could be my once in a lifetime horse (and I hope it will be
).
When speaking to the above person who knew the horse, she recommended that I use something with 'a lot of blood' because Weltmeyers can tend to sit behind the leg and because she knows the mare. She also said it was difficult keeping to the Hannoverians because you find so many linked closely with Weltmeyer himself which is what I have come across myself.
So... I have a few ideas myself, but I know there are many experienced breeders on here who will have wonderful pearls of wisdom for me
I know I am leaving all this a bit last minute, but it is only something that has become possible recently
She is what I would call an older fashioned warmblood, quite substantial, so I am looking for something that will refine her a little and I really want to breed something with a powerhouse behind
However, a more modern type stallion would really complement her in my opinion.
