But I don't feel guilty at all!

It was mainly stuff to pamper Osk with, but I want to get Jayjay a present because he's so unwell

He's going to the vets on friday and having a camera up his nose, poor boy, but I really don't know what to get him, as they said not to feed him anything apart from grass and haylage until they know what's wrong, and food is the love of Jayjay's life...

I got a proper, posh, pale cream sheepskin numnah for Oscar, and it's so soft, it's gorgeous! I got a matching sheepskin girth as well, which he needs, because he has really thin skin. And the softest body brush type thing you have ever felt... And a bridle... Because he's all in borrowed tack, right down to the bit... We bough the bridle in parts though, because I'm too picky, and they didn't have a ready made one that I liked!

I'm gonna wash him tomorrow(he's green), and put all his new stuff on, and take photos... Aw!

And a quick Q - Is it cheaper, in the long run, to use normal shavings, or something like Equisorb? You see, Oscar gets through so many bales, even though he's on rubber matting, you have never seen something that poos, wees, and spreads it all about like he does...

Wow - you did go on a spree, didn't you?! I'm sooo jealous - my OH has confiscated my credit cards

(well, most of them...hehehe

Poor Jayjay - good luck at the vets on friday, hope it goes well and they can make him better. As for the shavings, I think it depends on the horse. I never found much difference when I was using that equisorb stuff, but it might make a difference if you deep littered? Unless he really is too messy for that....

Litterally, it's like a bomb site in there!!!

He's on rubber matting and a semi deep bed, if the bed was shallow he'd be swimming

I envy my sister's horse, he's a grey, and even he has less stable stains then O!

It needs to be hygenic and V dry, you see, because he has Mud fever abcess things...

maybe you would be better with the equisorb type stuff then. I do know someone who used it and found it was much more economical for her than normal shavings. Trial and error I think, is the way to go.

Some horses are so grim - I'm lucky, I can leave my TB mares bed for 2 weeks without doing a proper muck out and I still only get 1 1/2 tubtrug buckets out of it! My last horse was disgusting though, so I know what you're up against
