A couple of very good friends were asked to take part in the Olympic torch relay at Hopetoun House with their carriages and horses today.
As they are short of grooms they gave me and my sister a phone and asked if we would like to help. Of course, managed to swap work so that i could go.
So arrived in the sunshine, plaited friends 2 gelderlands, had some lunch, chatted to Caroline Powell and Ian Stark :-)
Then got changed and harnessed up and set off with the horses. There were 7 turnouts including a coach with 4 friesans.
Was such an amazing thing to be part off, the boys pulled like trains most of the way but luckily when we had to stand and wait for the torch they stood like stars.

I really don't get the whole olympic palava but its still lovely to see all the horses and carriages posing in front of that awesome house.

They had hoped to get a few more horses and carriages but a few people were a bit worried about the horses reactions to what was going on.
Was just such a great thing to be part of. The torch goes through the town i stay in tomorrow but i'm going to be at work :-(
