and...

i LOVE her!!

Ruby:
A bay mare, 5yr old Irish Sports Horse.
Quite scopey,
and a lovely personality, so cute and cuddly!

I just saw her and just instantly thought, bloody hell i love you!

Just had a instant 'connection' type thing.

Anyone else had this 'love at first sight' feeling as soon as they saw their horse for the first time?!

So excited. Going to ring up tomorrow and make an offer!
Fingers crossed she passes the vetting!

oh great....yes I had this feeling when I went to look at taking merls in loan....saw him in field at a distance and knew that he was going to be with me.....i ended up buying him.
my other horses too have been love at 1st sight...

Oh i wish you all the luck in the world that she passes the vetting...let us know

I am sorry if it sounds like I am putting the dampeners on things but she looks a bit odd behind.
confused.gif

It is exaggerated more over a fence, she also carries her quarters to the left.
She may be a little tight in the saddle area or unhappy behind and also seems a bit grumpy about things in general maybe?
The vet would give her the once over so it may be just me.

Good luck and fingers crossed as it is nice when you sit on a horse and it feels right, doesnt happen very often

Now that you come to mention it, I see what you mean by the quarters to the left. - On the first canter to the back of the arena before the jump?

I'll let you all know how the vetting goes :')
I'm so excited!!

Mrs_Wishkabibble your not putting a dampener on anything :P
Hehe, if you suspicions are correct then hopefully the vet will pick it up and i'll have to re-consider.. but fingers crossed everythings ok!

She looks a sweetie, and it's great when you get that "it's the one" feeling. But I also agree with Mrs_W above that there is something strange behind, although I couldn't see any obvious lameness when trotting straight? I would get her looked over by a vet if it were me and I was thinking of putting in an offer, saying subject to vetting. Might be something and nothing, but is quite obvious especially when jumping or cantering up the straight side. Also she did a few bunny hops behind in moments of the video and didn't look too happy?

Good luck, and hope she's the one and it all works out.

i also don't want to put a dampener on things... but she doesn't look happy. sorry. she's almost looking like she wants to buck at some points in that video. esp after landing, and in canter.

did she feel ok to ride?

maybe she was cold and a bit grumpy?

however, don't listen to us. listen to your heart. and just make sure you get a vetting done.

good luck! i hope she's wonderful

I would have to agree. She looks very uncomfortable/stiff at times especially while jumping.
Fingers crossed it works out though.
Love at first sight is a great feeling

Agree with this ^^

I'm certainly no expert and it could be her age, etc but she didn't look quite right
shocked.gif
Would just want a good vet and possibly back person to check that out to make sure, I hope it's nothing serious! She just seemed a bit unhappy when jumping(ears back, tail swishing) and her strike off into canter when she was near the camera, she didn't look v happy. It could be nothing or she could just be v sensitive to a new rider, your nerves, her saddle not fitting, etc. She does look very pretty though!!!
grin.gif
Fingers crossed!

this horse looks crooked in canter. and is not happy when the rider applies her legs. she is being held together alot, and i feel if they were to let go of the horse and put the leg on this horse would give an almighty buck....nice horse.....but get it checked out....doesnt look quite right to me ...x

Have you got anyone experienced to go and have another look?
It seems crazy to spend out on a vetting so close to Christmas if there is a problem.

I'm no expert but I think she is just sore behind the saddle. maybe had a saddle that banged on her back. She doesn't look lame at all just slightly crooked and a bit unhappy.

If it were me I would have my chiro visit her before I did anything. Would save on a vetting in the first instance too

Otherwise I like her a lot and certainly wouldn't put me off totally, not after spending months looking for a horse recently and seeing not many that look even as well as she does

I'd be more inclined to say she just needs some schooling as she's not working straight. It could be because of a problem but looking at her jump I'd say she isn't jumping like a horse in pain. Get her vet checked, that's what you're paying them all the £'sss for! Good luck, I hope she passes she looks a lovely mare.

Oh you are much braver than me!! When I watched a bit of the video I must admit I was not at all keen on the way this mare moved - particularly at the slower paces tbh but I read the comments at the time and thought maybe it was just me.

It can be hard to tell from a video though so I hope if she is the one for OP it all works out well.

She doesnt look lame but she does look a bit stiff and not right behind, but at her age she is going to be green, and looks it to so may actually just be that.... but i would say she would be refusing if she was in a great deal of pain,

No offence but it may of been you not going with her over the jumps and making her uncomfortable,

But she looks lovely, good luck with the vetting

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate your advice

they use the saddle on all of their horses, so it may not fit correctly, resulting in her back being a little sore or uncomfortable.
I'm planning on getting her one fitted or made to measure. The ground was also very hard and it was quite an uneven arena so I don't know whether this was why she was moving her hind quarters to the left or whether there is an actual problem. I've decided to go with my heart and get her a 5 stage vetting so the vet will be able to thoroughly examine her therefore alerting me to any problem there may be. Thanks again everyone, I will let you know the outcome!!

i think a badly fitting saddle could easily be the cause. good luck with the vetting! make sure you keep us all updated! xxx

Afraid I have to agree with the above. I'm sure the vetting though will pick up if there is a problem and how easy it would be to get sorted. Young horses quite often canter quarters in if they lose their balance. I wasn't sure it if was just the camera angle that made her look so crooked.

Just a word of warning i notice that it is Mellissa Brewers yard, just be careful and get the horse checked. Please get the bloods taken and run before you give away any money. I have personally been caught out. However no horse is the same so i wish you the best of luck.
