Went to view a horse with my friend!

BoolavogueDC: Woops! Sorry, I'm awful for skim reading :P Yes, that's me :) I just had a wander around on him and he's excellent! In the short time I was on him, a jogger and several cyclists went past and all he did was look at them (Not even in a spooky way, but in a 'oh, hello, you're new!' kinda way)

AprilBlossom: I'll be able to ride him in the summer when I can (hopefully) drive and will have longer evenings :)

And a sensible bit of hi-viz :)
FWIW I had a 4YO when I was a teenager, I was never particularly GOOD at riding, but quite gutsy and had good stickability.
I had a traditional cob mare, Obi and she was fantastic - never did a thing wrong and we learned together :)

As an adult I bought a 4yo and I had to give the damn loon away because I could do nothing with it! It's all about the partnership, so as long as she's careful, I see no reason why it can't be successful. In my modest opinion :)

Well I hope you have some fun with him, especially if he has so far behaved himself. At least he looks happy to have a good look around. Good luck he is a nice looking horse.

Usually I'm covered head to toe in hi-viz, but since I didn't really expect to get on (Brought the hat to stay safe, even on the ground) though I do love to have my hat band, so I'll always have atleast ONE hi-viz thing with me when I ride :)

I think he seems like a genuinely good horse and I don't expect she'll have much trouble with him :) If she could train the last horse she had, she can help this one along!

I agree Phoenix is a lovely name, doesn't require a name change (unlucky anyway?), and the place is in Arizona so Western/native american enough I would have thought;

Arizona would also be a cool name. Isn't the horse in International Velvet called Arizona? :)

Glad you had fun OP and that the horse you viewed seems to be what your friend is looking for.

ETA I bought a horse called Dido :eek: That got changed!

^^ agree with the rest but the footwear thing is a safety thing and HHO is a massive resource. It's good to see people challenging those practising bad safety, I'm sure the girl can do what she wants, but if it educates someone else reading not to ride without appropriate footwear - that's good in my book :)

But agree no reason to start cross examining A on behalf of her friend, she can't really answer much can she?! :)

Admittedly I wouldn't let someone turn up and ride in Uggs :p But sounds like OP's friend has found a nice pony :D
