Went to view a 5 year old Irish cob today. Viewed the paper work and its parents are unknown. It is from a breeder originally and is listed with the Irish Cob Society. I couldn't really understand the breeders reasoning for thsi when I called them. Can anyone shed some light on this please?
Also the breeder said they sold the cob on 1.5 years ago as a full horse ie. not castrated. He only had one ball drop at the time so they told me to check if he has since been castrated that both balls where taken and not just one. Does anyone have any experience with a rigged horse (hope thats the right word!). May do another thread for that one!!!
Also he is young, so possible to school him. But the dealer (now at a dealers) would not ride out alone, always with another horse even though they say he can go out alone. OK to be fair we had high winds and hail today so could be that! I did take him up the lane alone and although needed some pushing to go, he did go ! The arena was different though, he kept wanting to get out by turning at the entrance (again sure I could make schooling interestign to get him back into it). But always had someone behind egging him on.
So a few issues, but other than that felt he would make a good plod for me and kids. Although I would like to school him to.
So come on, opinions please......##
Thanks
