The lovely little Welsh B I had on loan to bring on over the summer is for sale and... we're buying him :)

I'm so excited as he is such a lovely pony, although I will be doing some pony squishing when I ride him. He's turning 4 this year so I've got lots planned for his education. He's going to come and live in Wales with my TB and I whilst I'm at Uni, then come home for my little sister to ride during the hols.

I was also wondering is his bloodlines are any good? He is by Cascob Microlite, out of Crossbrook Pam.

This is him, what do you think?

Sorry for the overload!

Oppinions and conformation crit welcome

He's lovely. What height is he?
He looks more like a section C in the photos. That's not a problem. I like Cs. Bet he's got personality, never known a C who didn't!
Good luck and have a super time with him.

His dam and sire are both Welsh Mountain Ponys, but he keeps growing so not really sure if he is a B or not. I think he is currently 13hh.

Any comments on his confo?

He won't be a section B as both parents are welsh mountain ponies (A's)
Sounds like he's grown overheight , and almost looks like he's got crossed with a C somewhere along the lines??
He looks a little sweetie, good luck with him :)

I've researched bloodlines, all of his ancestors are Welsh Mountain Ponies. So I'm guessing he's just grown too much. Will this affect him in any way or affect his price when we eventually sell him?

He looks a sweetie!!

Although both his parents are A's if he is over height he can be re registered as a B

. TRANSFERS BETWEEN SECTIONS

On the basis of height certified by a Veterinary Surgeon, the Society may sanction:

4.1 A transfer from Section A to Section B of stock which has grown over 12 hands.

4.2 A transfer from Section C to Section D of stock which has grown over 13 hands 2 inches.

4.3 A transfer from Section D to Section C of stock, seven years old or over, which does not exceed 13 hands 2 inches.

It shouldn't affect him in anyway, he just won't be suitable for the showring as such as he won't be correct for the breed standard. Little local show you'll be fine unless they are being critical.
As for price, it purely depends on what you're advertising him as; a pony club pony it wont matter with him being that height, but as a possible m&m pony then it will affect as he won't be suitable for this due to correctness to the breed standard.

Although he will look out of place in a class amongst section B's and many won't touch him due to him being all Welsh A bloodline.
So it still narrows down your possible buyers market in the future.

Maybe but he isnt a typical A either so its neither here nor there.

He will make someone a cracking PC pony though!

I'm not really worried about what he is breeding wise, not into showing so not a big issue.

He's great with children, takes everything in his stride and has amazing leg action :) So just aiming to make a lovely PC pony out of him.

Microlite although a registered section a grew to well over height, he had lots of bone and feather hence its passed on - as has his 4 white stockings, last I knew of him was he was being driven, no doubt a superb driving pony and had he been 12hh and under would never have been sold. I bought him as a foal showed him with great sucess as a foal and yearling then sold him on , as we knew than he would be too big, but he was a smashing pony and real typey , he won loads of championships as a youngster - I think I paid 40gns for him at fayre oaks sale many moons ago.
