Hi all,
Ive been looking at getting a Ex Racer but for the life of me i dont know were to start to find one.. or who to even get in touch with and just wounderd if anyone on here had any advise for me.:)
Im based in the East Midlands

I met a lovely man last week whose horse had just come 6th in the Gold cup he offered me some horses that are lovely and sound but not fast enough. He lived up north.see if you can get info on him

I think it depends on how schooled you want them!

www.sourceanexracehorse.co.uk is a good place I reckon.
Darley and HEROS are 2 charities who do a lot of good work.

Maybe phone your RoR person (find them on www.ror.org.uk) and ask about local trainers?
Oi! Why did you have to post that

Smashing little mare who's right up my street for £500

mustnotbuyanotherhorse, mustnotbuyanotherhorse mustnotbuyanotherhorse.....

got to wolverhampton races, ask the trainers/lads there.....especially the ones who dont place...!! You may want to err on the side of caution and take a horsebox wth you in case they hand you the reins there and then....

Are you wanting one for free, or do you have a bit of money to spend? I know of one, sound and fit, but won't be for free, as it really good to hunt, and can do a really nice dressage test.

End of the season is coming soon, people tend to be retiring handicappers. My Pointer is going to be needing a home......got a couple more races before then! ;)

I'd recommend phoning your local trainers direct and ask if they have any horses they are looking to rehome/retire from racing. It's the ideal time to be contacting National Hunt yards as the season is coming to an end.

Most yards have horses going for free or a few hundred pounds to good homes.

Here is a list of UK trainers.

Hi all just wanted to say thankyou for all your help... :)
Still looking though so if anyone has or knows anyone who needs a 5* home for a ex racer please contact me

I am actually going to them on tuesday. however they do seem to be rather expensive once its all taken into account with mounthly payments and payments up front. which when you look at the most of keeping at the moment extra monthly payments can sting a little bit:)
