We're nearly there....2013 goals?

Get going properly with BD on Cam - did some Un aff dressage this year and made a good start, but want to improve on that. :)

Understand how all this qualifications work - and maybe even qualify for something. That really is what I want to do. 10 years out of doing anything competitive and the world has changed! :o:p

And a mini goal for younger son - to get him onto the whizzy pony (our Arab x 13.2 who is a saint, but very forward going).

A big good luck to everyone else for their goals! :) x

Get some continuity going!

George is 5 next year.

Plan to move to livery and really get him going with the aim of doing prelims by late spring and novice by the end of summer.

Start jumping (not done it for 6yrs) and have some fun with it!

Do some hunter classes, the first being March 31st!

And basically just enjoy riding and get some of my confidence back :)

Just moving to Gloucestshire so my first aim is to find an amazing dressage& jumping trainer and to enjoy finally having the time to go for regular training!

Also find an amazing farrier ( worried sick about this as am well fussy!) as in the meantime will be taking my horses home for shoeing as the thought of using a different farrier makes me feel ill!

Then with Sings I'd like to get out doing BD at Prelim&Novice and BSja at BN&Disco, and get Xc schooling ready for spring hunter trials . Then BE at Intro/Pn by early summer. Also qualify for some decent ROR stuff.

Rosie is now sound so aims are to get her hacking confidently, schooling and boxing well and to start going to small shows.

By the end of the Spring I've got to work out which of these horses to sell or move on, which will be very hard..totally adore Rosie but Sings is the tough& sound one.

Also have to get my Hgv test done& get a new lorry.

With the horses at work -( small tb/sport horse stud& racehorse rehab) the babies I'd just like to get them broken in nicely and going well& competing well at local level.

The resting racehorses to go back to their race yards looking& feeling amazing.

The foals/yearlings 2yr olds all well handled and behaved.

Also would like to try and get some rides in a Pt2Pt!

I do have some goals but I am keeping them secret as they are a bit ambitious and I will get laughed off the forum ;)

Do my lorry test.
Do my Stage 4 riding.

Pickle- Do a few novices, as well as secret goal.
Cin- Double clear at BE90 as well as secret goal.

Become a billionaire :D

If I can keep my mare sound I will be ecstatic, I'm aiming to have lots of fun, Sj and x-c and maybe try a few events and just not worry about the dressage. I'm hoping to do some bs. But fun and lots of it is the aim of the game!!

My farrier in Gloucs. (I'm in ciren) is v v good. Used to work for a 4* eventer in Devon. He's sorted out my boys feet which were a bit of a mess after having being done a couple of times by someone else. Can also really really recommend Mike and Emma Winter at Chedworth for training. Lovely lovely yard, amazing facilities and both really know their stuff, especially with young horses.

Everyone has great plans for the year ahead.

Lets hope the weather is better otherwise I'm sticking to BS and maybe a bit of BD :D

My goals for 2013
Horses:
J – build fitness up, work on SJ on grass, continue with DR lessons. Move to Novice BE, and jump Newcomers BS.
L – back in spring, take to a couple of shows over summer then turn away
H- There is a chance he may be sold. If not then aim for 3yo in hand.
Spock the Shetland – keep the weight off him!!!

Personal:
Take hubby out lots to keep him happy about the amount of horses I have
Watch CBBC in Feb to see what my hubby and I look like on TV! :)
Complete my university teaching qualification
Write a couple of articles (has always been on my long term list but never get round to it!)
Have lots of lambs at lambing time!
Have fun showing the sheep
Save up for arena mirrors!

Look forward to reading everyones reports next year! I love reading how everyone is getting on :D

I'd like to jump my "new" mare in some Foxhunters and would love to qualify her for Newcomers second rounds (though I would get my trainer to jump her if she qualified as too big and difficult for me).

For my sister and Maggie it would be amazing to get to BD nationals again at Elementary, and get more consistent scores in Medium.

My aims for 2012 are to continue our training with MH, she has been a godsend!

We've qualified for the Trailblazers 2nd rounds and i'd love to qualify for the final at Stoneleigh. I'd like to get our Novices consistantly over 66%.

Then our next step is to do an Elem and register BD. Overall I'd like to just continue our training and have fun! x

Evertime I post in this sort of thread it doesn't happen, but here goes anyway...

I would like to get Indy established enough to do a few ODE's over summer at 80/90cm and for him to be happily and confidently jumping small courses by springtime.

I would also like to go do some prelim and novice tests and maybe affiliate him BD later in the year.

My biggest aim, really, is to get as many trips out as we can, lessons, clinics, comps and really build on the last 8 months of this year. Indy has progressed well but each improvement seems to bring with it a problem, however I'm very much in this for the long haul now so will keep plugging away trying to improve us both and hopefully, one day, I'll have the lovely, confident comp horse I know he could be.

Pink is due her foal end of April so we'll see how that all works out *touches wood frantically*

My main aim is to keep horse injury free so I can actually get out competing, this year has not been good, after a fairly successful start he managed to get pretty much the whole summer off due to various, annoying reasons.
Mine are actually similar to yours NMT
Qualify summer novice restricted regionals.
Qualify winter elementary restricted regionals.
Possible give medium a go by the end of year.
Training wise - get changes sorted, establish a more elevated trot as its there but a bit hit and miss at the moment.

Be able to carry (not even use) a stick without getting bucked off!

Get him out to do a bit more jumping as he loves it, i just need to get my butt into gear!

Aim with other horse is to sell to a lovely home who can have lots of fun with him so I can go on a hunt for another baby horse.

Good luck everyone.

My main aim is to have a healthy and happy baby!
To keep my horse ticking over as long as I can and to continue seeing his lovely new HHO rider enjoy jumping him and doing some comps on him.
My aim is to get some lunge lessons after having my baby so i'm in tip top shape to start riding again and i'd like to finish the year pehaps doing a few small bits and pieces but i'm not too bothered :).
Mostly I just want to finish next year with a happy, confident, shining horse and a healthy bouncy baby :).

Evertime I post in this sort of thread it doesn't happen, but here goes anyway...

Same here!

2013's outlook is rather overcast at the moment, Winnie has got 10 more weeks of box rest to go, prognosis for return to work is guarded (vet is hopeful but agrees that we should consider doing less strenuous work), and he's already beginning to look stiff behind from being in. :( However he's being very good, so we will keep plugging on and see what he looks like trotted up in a few weeks.

So, my 'aims' are:
To get through the box rest and try bringing Winnie back into some sort of work
Possibly find a loan horse that I can get doing some dressage etc on to allow me to have some fun and keep the pressure off Winston..

That's about all I can say at the moment! :o

ETA- non horse wise; get loads of vet work exp and get four A's in my AS exams!!

I suppose biggest aim will be to get youngster started ( he'll be 5 next year) and maybe take him to riding club camp in May.

Other one is entered for 1st BD elem in Jan and I want to sort my elem fsm by Feb.

For the Big Ginger Beast: He'll be aimed at 1m ODE's at the start of the season, he's jumping amazingly at the moment and feels better over things bigger than 1m, he really doesn't have to try with anything smaller. So there will be no messing around. This is with the aim of jumping some DC's and we shall aim for the 3'6 ODE at Mayfield for inter-schools and he will do his first PC level 5 at Brightling in July hopefully! I haven't got long left with him and I really need to push on. If he isn't happy eventing then we will aim for Newcomers BS and become more established at Elementary BD. :)

My goals for 2013

Get my body working as well as it can
Try not to break any more bits of it
Have a PMA (Positve Mental Attitude) at all times
Enjoy the horses and don't take it as seriously whilst maintaining standards ;)

I think in the above I have set some of my most challenging goals!

My aims for 2012 are to continue our training with MH, she has been a godsend!

Ahh you're a sweetie :)

from what i've heard you'll manage all of that no prbs!

Usually I have planned my goals ages ago I am slow this year!

First want to enjoy trucking about in my lorry and only go to my fav shows now that I am a part timer only :)

My grade a I just want to be sound and able to jump, whatever height she wants, as long as she is a happy horsey . I'd love for her to be a 130 horse again but I'd settle for a 115 speed merchant if needs be!

I d like to feel confident on the 5yo
( it's sharp!) and think nothing of popping it round a class .

And the other two will be stepping up to 125, 130 this year so I'd like some sensible double clears there and some money!!

Mostly I want to be able to afford it all without worrying and just enjoy it all with no stress or pressure :D

My first goal is to get back in the saddle and get riding fit again. It's been 5 weeks and I'm desperate to get cracking again but I'm being a good girl and waiting until the doc gives me the OK. :o

With Beau (6), I'd like to get him out and about and have four double clears at BN or disco under our belts. I'd love to take him over to Castle Leslie in Ireland as well and have a go at their XC course. I originally said I wanted to be jumping foxhunter by the end of next year but I broke my leg and I probably wont be jumping again until April

Jerry (22) - my goal is to try a few prelims with him to see how he copes (stresshead) and maybe go on hound exercise next christmas if he's fit. As long as he's happy and healthy, then we'll have hit the target.

Timberland (13)- I'm determined to get halfpass looking decent and maybe attempt tempi changes. I might also steal him for some dressage if my Dad lets me. :D

Asbo - Get his confidence back sj and have some placings at BE90. Suppose there's no reason why he couldn't qualify for grassroots champs too if he gets his sj mojo back .

I've recently been given the ride on two very sweet albeit green new forest ponies. The 5yr old I hope to have going well enough to have done some BD classes, qualifying would be the icing on the cake. I also suspect she will be going to the NF county show so a win in the forester class would be great too. The 6 yr old I think I will be jumping, would be great to have lots of dc's under our belts and a few rossies too :)

BUT, most importantly. I would love nothing more than to be able to ride my own boy in some events, get some placings and even possibly qualify for the grassroots champs. It's been a very long 2 years of stress, worry, tears and frustration and as much as I love riding for other people, and even getting paid to do so which is something I never thought I would be able to do, all I really truly want is to be able to ride my boy again and for him to stay sound forever and ever and ever!!!

I hit all my goals last year and had fun. I have some big plans but if they do not come off then as long as I am having fun and progressing I will be satisfied. Hopefully the horse will live up to expectations or he will be off to a new home and I will start again!

Just to have lots of fun.
Inca will be four next year so going to give hima few months off at the start of the year and then have fun with him, start taking him out to some pc rallies and perhaps introduce him to jumps towards the end of te year

Buster I just want to get him out and about again and have fun

Affiliate BE and run 1 or 2 90s to start the season before going BE100.

Be in with a chance of Pony Club teams and qualifying! - this is something I have missed out during all my pony clubbing years!

Secret aim (fingers and toes crossed and dressage mind in place) run a couple of BE novices in late summer! :D

Get the grades I need to go to my top uni choice :) However this means finding the best home possible for my brilliant ginger horse :(

After eventually passing all my 2012 expectations and more, I am hoping we have set ourselves up for an outstanding 2013!

get back to competing to at least 1m confidently on Socks, preferably with lots of double clears!

keep them all fit, healthy and sound (maybe do some hunter trials on Monty if he stays fit and sound through next year *fingers crossed* seeing as he will be 23 by then!!!)
