Ok so with all the cancellations, were is everyone aiming for now? I have no idea as don't really want to go to loughanmore without a run before hand, but wouldn't want to end our season now! Are there any southern events which are reasonably close and worth travelling to?

im going to loughanmore as my first novice

i have no choice

but the novice champs isnt being held there this year so hoping it wont be as strong??

what is the course like? (novice)

I'm not sure have only been there once for an unaffiliated event years ago! Think it is quite a strong course, big and bold. I might have a look for 1 in the south the week of Tullylish/ or maybe they will reschedule Craigantlet for then *prays*

It's just getting ridiculous now

Tattersalls is cancelled this weekend as well

Tullylish is on the 30th, but whether that'll go ahead or not I have no idea! Clyda (in Cork) would be a very long drive for you, Dartfield (which is near Loughrea) wouldn't be as far though...

Was thinking about Dartfield as it is well up to standard but it would still be a very long way for me to go...probably about 5 or 6 hrs. Was also just thinking there may be one in Scotland which would be closer, might look into that?!

put it this way - loughanmore is up to standard, so dartfield will probably be the same.

as far as i can remember, the novice at loughanmore is alrite, (pony club areas held there last year) only thing i can think of is the giant skinny logs down the hill where TripleSandH fell off

i did the hunt ride there and cant remember anything particualry frightning?

yep! where is she when you need her?

i forgot i did the hunt ride - i jumped massive fences and merlin has played in the water jump and jumped all the trakeners/GIANT irish bank thing so i feel slighlty more confident about the xc now

a friend actually said to me today "you will be alrite, merlin's a machine"

i dont think this!! was rather flattered though

I'm not too worried about the size of the fences its more how techincal they are. Dartfield doesn't sound too promising either then, unless we have a drought in the next few weeks!
Arrrrgh! I don't know what to do!!!

I've jumped loughanmore novice, its not too bad, big and bold, a few skinnies but I'd already jumped most of the course for senior area trials which was much scarier (a fair few intermediate jumps on the course).
only_me, technically it was a fall on the flat ;p before attempting the mahoosive skinny logs! Yes..senior teams eventing is unlucky for me!
Oh-and in the wooded bits-try not to hit the trees....
